The Grey Office | Ar. Aarsh Nandani<\/a> | Ahmedabad<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Grey Office\u201d, designed by Architect Aarsh Nandani<\/a><\/strong> in Ahmedabad, is a modern age-chartered accountant’s office in the space of merely 250 Sq.ft. with one cabin, employee working space for five and a pantry. The office space faces the Sabarmati riverfront and a private space has been created in the main chamber to enjoy the view at any time of the day. A fluted glass was used to transfer the natural light from the cabin to the staff area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Principal Designer Aarsh Nandani<\/a><\/strong>, insinuated that the goals for design were to have natural light with a spacious and calm aura in this office space. Creatively design a visual yet welcoming partition and a hidden pantry as per the theme. The design philosophy is using imperfect curves along with the use of a circle to balance them out. The pantry door was made with a sliding folding mechanism to be open and shut as required while hiding it perfectly. A niche with a complimenting pattern is created in the wall for displaying the artefacts. A customized light in the niche gives the artefacts the effect of a growing halo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ENTRANCE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The design has been devised from tracking the customary movement of the various end-users of the space, which helps with the zoning for privacy and aesthetics in spatial planning. The office is conceptualized in terms of orientation and curved shapes in the form of artifacts that are free from rigid lines. The fluted glass entrance is greeted by a beautiful d\u00e9cor panel with wooden framing and an illuminated “CA” emblem in it, creating an inviting and soothing space. While warm lighting under rack in partition and planters adds charm to the d\u00e9cor. The entire workspace revolves around the contemporary use of natural materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WORK STATION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A wooden frame with glass panels separates the work station from the entrance, maintaining the visual connectivity yet providing a physical separation. Through a rational yet innovative design language and the application of lightweight materials helped in turning the furniture into an integral part of the space itself. The presence of natural materials, such as wood, white desk tops, and direct lighting on the bulletin board and carpentry brought more charm to details. The interiors are in shades of white with a striking vertical design on the cabinets. While an elegant simple ceiling design and wall arts in circular shapes in a shade of black compliment the interior decor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The challenge was to produce a workspace which is in sync with their environment. The designer smartly designed the fluted glass partition with wooden framing, which adds charm to the d\u00e9cor. It not only maintains privacy but provides natural light, while the linear framing design compliments the d\u00e9cor. The black artifacts and office theme elevates the unique additions to the design interiors and empowers those that inhabit the space and create a good ambience to the interior. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAIN CABIN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The core of attention in the main cabin is the beautiful play of wood and settled grey with the hint of white hue for the furniture. The display unit next to the door gets opulent into the wall, leaving behind a neat and subtle wall with modern circular wall art. A modern sofa with grey upholstery and planters adds charm to this beautiful cabin. The ceiling is left plain, allowing the furniture and the lighting fixtures to do all the talking. The signature curve pattern on the table with white top adds a luxe factor to the interior. While the wall is d\u00e9cor with world map art in a grey pallet compliments the wooden cabinets with white top desk. The selection of venetian blind curtain complements the d\u00e9cor of cabin seamlessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Architect Aarsh Nandani<\/a><\/strong> in Ahmedabad designed this office with colours in the space remaining neutral with white and grey tones, which further lightens and airs the space and complements the wooden furniture. The partition in-between adds a joyful ambience to the office atmosphere. Understanding human psychology and the impact of spatial surroundings on the mind plays an essential role in the design process. The design of the office is an interior play that creates an aura of energy through the form and the materials. Spatial Stimuli aims to provide a space that adopts architectural creativity and design; with unfolding and unravelling spaces, the design of the office intends to connect users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
