Krishna Kunj is a 1,900 sq. ft. private residence located in Adipur, Kutch, designed by Vee Design Studio under the guidance of Principal Designer Vijay Sathwara. Conceived as a contemporary family home, the project reflects a balanced interplay of functionality, spatial clarity, and understated elegance. The design language is rooted in simplicity, allowing materials, proportions, and thoughtful detailing to define the character of the home while ensuring comfort, durability, and visual harmony throughout.
The Principal Designer shares that the vision for Krishna Kunj was to craft interiors that feel timeless yet responsive to everyday living. Emphasis was placed on seamless spatial flow, cohesive material transitions, and a restrained colour palette. Each area was carefully detailed to balance aesthetics with practicality, ensuring that furniture, lighting, and storage solutions integrate effortlessly into the overall design narrative.
Contemporary Exterior
The exterior façade is articulated through clean geometries, neutral tones, and textured stone cladding that lends depth and permanence. Subtle linear details and a minimal boundary wall design enhance the contemporary character. At the same time, the clean structural composition and integrated planters soften the elevation, creating a balanced and refined street-facing façade.
Inviting Entrance
The entrance is designed as a refined threshold, marked by warm wooden panelling and a sleek main door with subtle white accents. Black stone flooring adds contrast and durability, while soft lighting and indoor plants introduce a welcoming ambience, establishing a calm and thoughtfully curated first impression. Soft lighting with wooden ceiling and carefully placed décor elements create a welcoming transition, reflecting the home’s understated contemporary character.
Refined Living
The living area unfolds as a well-balanced composition of comfort and sophistication. A plush sectional sofa anchors the space, paired with nested centre tables that add functionality without visual clutter. The TV unit becomes a statement element, featuring wooden panelling, fluted textures, and a marble-finished backdrop. Mirrors, soft furnishings, and a layered lighting scheme enhance spatial depth, while the neutral palette allows décor accents to subtly elevate the setting. Layered textures, plush furnishings, and elegant ceiling decor create a warm yet sophisticated space for relaxation and social gatherings.
Elegant Dining
The dining area is defined by a modern dining table complemented by upholstered chairs that offer both comfort and visual elegance. Positioned to maintain connectivity with the living space, it features warm wooden wall panels and focused ceiling lighting. Minimal décor and clean lines ensure the space remains uncluttered, while thoughtfully selected furniture and ambient lighting make the dining area both inviting and elegant, perfect for family meals and entertaining guests.
Functional Kitchen
The kitchen is designed as a highly functional yet visually cohesive space. Modular cabinetry in glossy finishes is paired with wooden accents to introduce warmth. The kitchen features a polished countertop platform paired with a stylish backsplash, enhancing both functionality and contemporary aesthetics. Ample counter space, integrated appliances, and efficient storage solutions ensure ease of use, while reflective surfaces and concealed lighting enhance brightness and lend a polished, contemporary appeal.
Serene Pooja
The pooja area is envisioned as a serene focal point within the home. An arched backdrop with intricate detailing frames the deity, while a custom-designed storage unit below ensures functionality. Soft ambient lighting, muted tones, and delicate décor elements create a calm, spiritual environment that blends seamlessly with the home’s contemporary interiors.
Tranquil Bedroom
A bedroom is conceived as a tranquil retreat, anchored by an upholstered bed with a warm-toned cushioned headboard. Modern bed design with side tables and layered soft furnishings enhances comfort, while a lounge chair by the window creates a relaxed seating corner with a stylish table. The selection of grey textured wall accents and curtains adorns the bedroom elegantly. The walk-in closet is seamlessly integrated, featuring a dressing mirror, concealed storage, and ambient lighting that adds depth without overwhelming the space.
Modern Bedroom
This modern bedroom adopts a softer, more playful aesthetic through pastel accents and curved design elements. The bed is styled with textured linens and cushions, while the wardrobe incorporates clean lines with functional niches for display. A compact study with modern decor and a dressing unit enhances usability, and natural light filtered through curtains creates a bright yet calming atmosphere.
Minimal Bedroom
This minimal bedroom reflects a calm, modern character, defined by full-height cushioned panelling with subtle geometric detailing and a refined neutral colour palette. The bed is paired with minimal side tables and subtle décor accents to maintain visual clarity. A full-height wardrobe in contrasting finishes provides generous storage while reinforcing the room’s clean-lined aesthetic. Thoughtfully placed lighting completes the space with a calm, composed ambience.
