Pastel Poise Residence | Studio Kalavrit | Vadodara
The design process began with understanding the client’s desire for a calm, emotionally warm home rooted in soft minimalism. Rather than introducing structural changes, the focus was placed on transforming the apartment through surface articulation, material layering, and carefully composed spatial transitions.

The concept was developed around a restrained pastel palette and tactile materials that could subtly influence mood and movement. Zoning was refined to ensure openness and fluid circulation, while furniture layouts were planned to maintain visual lightness and functional clarity. Each space was assigned an emotional tone, guiding the selection of colours, textures, and artwork.

Material studies played a central role, with veneer, rattan, fluted panels, ribbed glass, and matte finishes tested for balance and continuity. Custom-designed furniture and integrated artwork were developed in tandem, ensuring that art and architecture worked as a unified language. Lighting was layered to enhance softness, highlight textures, and create depth. The result is a cohesive home where calm, craft, and contemporary expression are seamlessly interwoven.

A home that breathes softness, Pastel Poise Residence is envisioned as a quiet dialogue between calm minimalism and contemporary expression. Nestled in Vadodara, this Residence is crafted as an experience rather than a demonstration a space where pastel hues meet sculpted forms, and material warmth anchors every moment. Designed by Studio Kalavrit, the residence reveals a seamless blend of soft geometry, tactile textures, and curated artistry, redefining what modern Indian living can feel like.

The design intent celebrates calm, comfort, and craft. Instead of relying on loud gestures, the interiors use delicate transitions, layered materials, and a narrative of muted tones. Veneer, rattan weave, fluted panels, ribbed glass, and pastel matte finishes come together like chapters in a story each material contributing a subtle emotion. The home consciously avoids structural alteration and instead elevates spatial character through surface treatments, custom furniture and nuanced detailing.

The foyer opens into a soft, inviting living space washed in airy neutrals and muted blush tones. Sculptural artwork on the walls and curated décor pieces introduces a tactile warmth. A berry-toned sofa becomes the focal expression gentle yet confident while marble-finish flooring and diffused natural light set a calm tone. Curved forms, organic mirrors, and ribbed surfaces enhance the sense of fluidity, creating backdrops rich with subtle drama.

The dining area transitions effortlessly from the living space, featuring hand-painted floral screens that soften the spatial divide. Wooden textures, modern silhouettes, and understated accessories emphasize the home’s crafted restraint. The kitchen continues the narrative of pastel serenity, balancing functionality with a clean, uncluttered aesthetic.

Each bedroom carries its own emotional identity, yet stays true to the home’s unified palette. The blush terracotta suite features ribbed shutters and curved mirrors, evoking a sense of feminine calm. The cane and wood bedroom is grounded in earthiness with a carved botanical artwork panel that forms a handcrafted centrepiece. The maroon blush artistic bedroom introduces a bolder mood, with a sweeping painted feature wall extending onto the ceiling, layered textiles, and a magenta floating console adding personality.

Across the home, colours are not just decorative they shape atmosphere. Soft pinks, warm browns, maroons, and beiges converge in a balanced choreography that feels immersive but never overwhelming. The materials wicker, ribbed glass, veneer, pastel laminates tie these spaces together through texture and rhythm.

Studio Kalavrit’s ethos emerges clearly: minimal yet meaningful spaces that carry emotional weight. This flat becomes a narrative of softness, an exploration of how modern Indian interiors can feel serene without being plain, expressive without being loud. With crafted warmth, thoughtful detailing, and a story woven into every surface, Pastel Poise Residence celebrates calm living in its most contemporary form.
