Corpora Office | Corpora | New Delhi
Neutrally toned space with color play in the material palette. Coherently laid out furniture was required for easier vision of the entire office area.
The Design Intent
Subtly using design and furniture details to bring out the elements in perspective. there was an effort to create an office space that catered to the employees and their interaction in the limited real estate of the area provided.
The Site
Rectangular in nature, located on the first floor of a commercial building that overlooks a primary road in mansarovar garden district of new delhi.
The spatial configuration/flow
Linear cirrculation is adopted for maximum functionality in terms of movement and time saving access to frequently used zones such as the conference room.
The material palette
concrete paint is used to feature the walls in the director cabins. marble plays a vital part in design, where blue de savoie as the structural base for the waiting area seats, tiger onyx as wall paneling and sonata grey as table top. tones of grey and deep blue add to the corporate studio ambience of the space.
The challenges
natural light was scarce in the space and thus, shades of linear light such as natural white in cabin area and warm white in waiting area was used to segregate the zones in the open plan layout. exposed hvac pipes and beams were then left barren to add to the brutality of interior design.
The highlights
Arched backdrop of the reception table that then continues on the adjacent wall in form of paint work and integrating white board on to the conference table for instant sketching and marking of ideas.
The lessons learnt
learning about accepting flaws in design and embracing the exposed nature of the site in context.
Favourite aspect of the project
The original paintings that are scattered across the office bring life to the otherwise plain corridors and wall facades. The modern way of integrating an arch in the office with the help of materials and design elements such as louvres, textured paints, etc.
