Madhav | Infinity Design Studio | Bhuj

Madhav Villa modern classic home is designed to have a distinctive character, by bold contrasts and accent colours that give life to each room in the house. It stands on 2400 square feet of land at Bhuj Kutch. Some classic details were added to give character and warmth to this house. The carefully thought-out design and details of the entire house have a common underlying design theme, but each space is unique in its style. The mix results in having a house that is luxurious, modern, inviting, and warm, with a careful balance between indoor and outdoor spaces to enable the family to spend the best times indoors and outdoors as well. Our client Mr Nikhil Joshi has kept all his faith in us. – words by The Designer.

The entire elevation has a few vertical surfaces of walls that incline at angles taking it away from the two-dimensional world of drawing. This in turn helps to capture a sensation of movement over in a static state. The structure, almost frozen in movement embraces the concept of light and ventilation with large openings, transparent surfaces, and shadow play. Directs towards the doorway of the house which is signified with double-height façade design. The largesse of this space has been further realized with a play of proportions, by providing four full height glass screen which gracing the double height volume. And it is highlighted with the marble texture tiling work and it complimenting the entrance wall which is also highlighted with stone work with warm spot light.

The facade is expressive creating a self-shading structure. A simple white and grey frame as a base element is stretched up to the highest level placing modern and classic look. MADHAV is glance up with flute design underline with edge polisher Comandulli Athena flat and curve edges. Outdoor lighting is a beautiful accessory for your home, making it feel more personalized and finished. The placement of lights come on, they give the home a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It creates an outdoor masterpiece that brings house to life. The main entrance door in intricate design with inbuilt handle and safety door with jali geometric pattern just enhance the space. Italian marble flooring in common spaces carrying continuity of design language. The ground floor is devoted to a public area with one room for parents.

The living room is often where family members spend maximum time together and therefore, it’s designed to maximize conversations, interactions, and laughter. A warm colour tone has been maintained in the room infuse a hint of nature, life, and energy for more active and assertive environments. One wall is highlighted through strips of verticals grooves patterns beige wallpaper which gives royal look with white and beige curtains. Dark walnut brown wooden finished furniture is highlighted in contrast with the off-white-coloured wall and Italian marble flooring in common spaces carrying continuity of design language. It has three lavish sofas with light palette velvet upholstery and a center table with wooden top supported with metal base that enriches the living space. TV unit is accentuating by dark brown wooden and marble with golden strip. Whereas space under staircase is décor with slate stone and with white pebbles base. Even three step column is spot out with leaf sculpture and it glow up with warm spot light. The wooden finish ceiling is arranged in such a way that it’s complimenting the space with pattern and light.

Designer says that, “As our client has little inclination on the devotional area to be in focus for his parents and playfulness for his son Madhav”. Pooja room is created with minimal design with maximizing white colour to bring the vibration of peace and calmness. Minor detailing like warm light behind the white marble and golden embellishment around giving aesthetical emphasis to an idol of worship. Pooja room’s outer wall integrated with dining and kitchen area lined up straight from this space is crafted with handmade patterns and textures by Asian paint.

The inviting dining looks very dignified and gives you a warm space to relax with your friends and family. The luxury dining furniture explores the right kind of adornment required for this place. A dedicated wooden false ceiling identifies the dining space giving it a warmer feeling with a contemporary look. Luxury style marble top dinning with velvet upholster chair complimented with wash basin area as it top is same as dinning top. This turns out to be the perfect place to relish meals with all the members of the family.

In kitchen area natural light bounces off the glossy surfaces of this large grey- white with grid pattern and gives the space a fresh, clean look with white top. The grey cabinets and crockery unit are a pleasant balance between flooring and white backsplash.

Parents room with a theme that is a pleasant sight for the eyes! The soothing shades of brown and off-white exude an intimate and not-too-overwhelming vibe into the bedroom. The painting behind the bed looks gorgeous as it is enveloped between the wooden frame. And the sitting area on the side with round coffee table which enhances the space. The bedding also looks exceptionally soft and comfortable.

The first floor is devoted to a private area with the client’s son bedroom, Guest bedroom and Master bedroom.

The staircase wall is décor with wall art of nature. Five elements of Earth i.e., water, air, earth, light, greenery is symbolically engraved on the wooden piece that accentuate the corridor on the first floor of the house. Ceiling as guiding element on the ground and first floor. The wooden finish ceiling with focus spot light is arranged in such a way that it’s pointing to move towards bedrooms. The chandelier hanging from the second floor emphasises the verticality of the space below.

The master bedroom is understated luxury and exuberance in a highly modern style and technique. Rectangular design of velvet upholstered wall panels headboard looking fab as it is enveloped between the wooden frame. While sofa in sitting is upholstered with same velvet fabric with marble top center table and wooden rack for working or reading just compliment the room. A large opening towards the balcony brings in the natural light creating evening shadow hues of the setting sun on swing. Wooden texture ceiling and floor of balcony just creating an eye catchy look.

Monochromatic colour platter used in son’s bedroom. The way lighting is controlled is key in a predominantly dark grey and white bedroom. The broken geometric design used on the bed’s backrest is highlighted with strip light just glorifying with the simple ceiling work. Matching colour sofa with unique coffee table just vowed the space. While there is a mini study area with floating white table top and grey upholstered with wooden leg.

The background of each room has been treated differently. The beige and wooden guest bedroom brings in heaps of sunlight all day, ensuring guests feel the charm and charisma of the space. Wooden drawer with panel and blinds just compliments the bed area. The idea behind using all these materials was to create a subconscious journey for visitors as well as enhancing natural elements on the site. It’s making an influential style statement for the sober interior décor.

The second floor is an addition of a refreshment area with Theater room and open terrace allows the family to host and entertain friends with the evening cityscape as a backdrop here. It also follows the colour palette that has been set for the house.

The attached washroom of the respective bedroom also reflects the same design approach with large openings, glorify spaces and wooden finishes.

Materiality performed a great role in setting the natural-meets-contemporary aesthetic direction. The entire project was customized according to the client’s brief, including remodelling and furniture design. The material finishes and the fixtures are handpicked for the client. A similar design language throughout the house, yet a unique take in all the spaces defines itself as an epitome of beauty. Ended up with this project in Nov. 2021, with special Thanks to all the workers, craft’s man and contractors for the tremendous work and energy shown up throughout the timeline. – Choral by The Designer.
