The Pastel House | Urvesh Chhatriwala Design Studio | Nadiad
Nestled in a highly developing area of Nadiad, the 2200 sq.ft. pent house is a unique expression of lively homes. The name ‘Pastel House’ perfectly describes how the design elements with subtle play of colours infuse the calm mood in the home. The main concern was the use of absolute colours and textures with minimal overlay in design. The overall space is designed with a meticulous play of materials and elements that transforms into a comfortable, functional yet stylish decor.
The brief we received from the client was quite enthralling. The family wanted a space where they could indulge and entertain with family and friends. They wanted a fresh look for their home with lots of natural light, comfortable and artistic touch. The interior reflects their love for art and Indian detailing with a modern twist. The overall colour palette is mostly neutral and soft, with the use of saturated hues to create a unique note of a furniture piece.
The front door opens into the living room that seamlessly flows into the dining area.
The living room is an aesthetic amalgam of neutral tones with the play of lines. Natural light gives the impression of spaciousness and the warm tones complement the surrounding open terrace. The rug, drapes, and sculptures along with a modern sofa, set a warm vibe inviting positive and peaceful feels to the house. The tv unit wall is the heart of the room with an amazing backdrop filled with colours. Bricks are composed into volumetric play of geometry giving an extraordinary outcome.
The brick elevation in the open terrace adds a rich textural impact by its unique modulation that gears through intricate expressions of its craftsmanship. The floral patterns imitate an illusion on a uniform surface throughout the wall.
The screen creates its bold statement between the living room and the dining room with a geometrical pattern that partially conceals the dining hall. The dining is filled with lights and a natural feel with huge window seating. The dining room console has a backdrop wall filled with brick that gives an earthy natural feel. The kitchen is filled with colors to break the monotony and has a modern design that creates its own vibe.
The bedroom designs solely belong to each member of the family. Each bedroom brings in ample sunshine and is tactfully designed with clean lines, a restrained colour palette. The Master bedroom is a lean design expression of a beautiful feature wall that draws the viewer’s eyes. There’s a striking combination of Kota stone and wood throughout the room with a neutral blue palette.
The geometric play reflects in all the rooms with different materials used. The guest bedroom is uniquely designed with an infusion of mosaic backdrops and a subtle hue. This house is uniquely designed hence, giving it a varied texture and an impartial enclosure with pastel hues.
