Minimalist Office | Komal Solanki Designs – KSD | Mumbai
Based on the taste and design brief Komal Solanki Designs – KSD decided to go for a contemporary design for this Minimalist Office in 1800 Sq. Ft., area in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Since the office had a lot of glass it has been planned for cabins to maximize the natural light coming into the workstation, thereby reducing the usage of artificial lighting to the minimum and giving a visually bigger feel to every office cabin module. Glass and ceiling height had been kept like to have a larger than the effect for grandness. The office space designed as a modern luxury area as well with an asymmetry-shaped theme.
The Principal Architect, Ar. Komal Solanki stated that in this Minimalist Office, everything is creative in this elegant office space. We tried to keep the environment peaceful yet young with color pops which I call asymmetry because I honestly believe there is an uncanny balance that asymmetry brings to a space. Designing a space with a minimal and contemporary approach was the desire of our clients.
ENTRANCE
Upon entering, the peculiar yet elegant interiors make for a warm and inviting ambiance. The signage is designed as striking individual letters with a green grass background that embellishes the entrance wall. A curvilinear pattern of wall paneling with different color palettes emphasizes the entrance. Even the designer creatively used ARK signage as a handle for the main glass door which also gives a hint of a beautiful office interior with pop-up elements.
WAITING LOUNGE
Entering the office will realm you in the waiting lounge area with the elegant-looking marble texture wall with copper strips and a modern asymmetrical wooden partition décor. The elegant white sitting with storage is highlighted by a modern versatility décor in a cream shade. The choice of flooring tiles, white ceiling décor, and artifacts all follow an asymmetry theme that blends in by providing the office with a good ambiance. The other walls are tinted with a dynamic blue accent paneling décor complementing this area.
WORKSTATION AREA
Further, a dynamic blue accent paneling is continuing and complemented with modern pendant lights which lead to the workstation area. The floor is also designed in such a way that from the entrance it leads to the passage area highlighting the space. The workstation provides a decent amount of space to work along with all the amenities and an ambient of two shades of color furniture giving it a more aesthetic and luxurious look. Whereas the light fixtures and elegant ceiling design accentuate a color scheme.
PARTITION
The entire office space was divided into different zones by glass partitions with an earthy theme which is a central spine passage connecting them to the workstation. Glass partitions with wooden framing were used to divide the spaces functionally yet maintain visual connectivity of the whole space. This partition forms the main character along with the use of different decorative elements. The door handles are also added in a wooden vertical style, which adds to the harmony of the passage area. Also, transparency abides faithful to a positive working environment with all efficient light qualities.
MEETING ROOM
A meeting room again follows the linear theme of olive-green paneling on a curved wall. The table is also designed in such a manner that fits on a curved wall. A modern light shade table top and copper tone base complemented with grey chairs. The blind modern curtain with linear pattern and copper hue wall emphasizes the space. An elegant ceiling design with a light fixture with suitable use of color tones, furnishings, and artifacts.
CABIN 1
The idea is to make bigger the table and smooth edges with modern furnishings. This cabin has a modern furniture setup with a trendy color palette for a table and a chrome-yellow leather chair. The L-shaped table is ornated with a chrome yellow top with an ivory and brown linear pattern for the base which accentuates the blind curtains. While a storage unit is continued with the table elegantly. The walls are highlighted with a decent wallpaper and a modern light fixture adds charm to it.
CABIN 2
It was obligatory to highlight this cabin in the overall rhythm of the interior. The designers smartly used a balanced shade of a blind curtain and wall décor elements. Also defining the straight geometries in the table decor gives the instinct to amalgamate with interior space. A combination of a white top and a dynamic blue accent table base is an eye-catchy element. Wallpaper and a series of pendant light fixtures accentuate all other elements pleasingly.
CABIN 3
Careful selections in furniture, fabrics, lighting, and ambiance helped designers to achieve uniqueness in design. This cabin exuberates a different emotion as per the client’s requirements. The beauty of a classic table and a modern leatherette chair is more inviting and creative. Eye-soothing wall art and the color palette make this cabin’s interiors more elegant. While a modern black pendant light adds charm to the plain ceiling décor.
The attention-grabbing, vibrant furnishings placed here is the perfect element that elevates the atmosphere of the simplistic aesthetic of this office interior space. In a minimalistic approach to design, “Elegancy lies in the details” and thus designers have focused on the details to a great extent. Every piece of furniture was curated with a minimalistic and modern edge to it. The use of glass and wooden elements extensively in the form of partitions along with an asymmetry pattern theme establishes the connections between spaces and invites ample light into the office.
