The Jewel Villa | Cane Boutique | Bangalore
Nestled in a lush corner of Bangalore, this 8000-square-foot villa is an embodiment of global sensibility grounded in Indian roots. Designed by Cane Boutique, led by the visionary Ritu Todi, the home brings together architectural restraint and soulful expression in the form of bespoke interiors, artful accents, and curated comfort.
From the moment you step onto the walkway, framed with slatted wood and an inset backlit CNC panel, you’re led into a space that feels both vast and intimate. Here, design details and personal stories blend seamlessly.
The homeowners, Heena and Deepak Vinchhi, a well-traveled couple with a deep appreciation for contemporary minimalism and Indian artistry, envisioned a home that is “welcoming, functional, and filled with warmth.” Their brief to the designer was clear: keep the layout clean, let the natural light flood in, and infuse it all with soul.
Cane Boutique answered with layered design interventions. Jewel tones, rich textures, and timeless material palettes elevate the linear architecture of the home. “The layout was restrictive,” Ritu admits. “But it challenged us to create fluid transitions between each space, allowing rooms to converse, not compete.”
At the heart of the villa lies the double-height living room, anchored by large-scale artwork and a suspended divider that subtly separates it from the dining area. A custom-designed 10-seater dining table, made from stainless steel, wood paneling, and topped with an 11-foot-long slab of Italian marble, reflects the studio’s bespoke ethos. Just beyond, a bar unit dressed in slatted wood and gold accents makes an elegant statement in the stairwell.
Each of the five bedrooms showcases a unique color story black, blue, white, silver-grey echoing the distinct personalities of the family members. The master bedroom leans into soft minimalism, while the son’s space is bold and dramatic. The pooja room, with its ten-foot double doors finished in distressed black, serves as a spiritual and sculptural focal point.
A standout feature? The life-size Picasso-inspired artwork that conceals a cleverly hidden shoe cabinet at the entrance. “It sets the tone for the unexpected,” says Ritu. That sense of layered surprise continues into the home office, balcony sit-out, and the garden-facing swing, making every corner both functional and sensorial.
The pandemic posed its own set of hurdles, disrupting timelines and supply chains. But the team’s resilience shone through. “We paused, recalibrated, and returned stronger,” says Ritu, recounting how the challenges only deepened the emotional investment in the project.
Sustainability, too, was central to the design process. Reclaimed wood doors, accent panels, and selectively used materials lend the home an eco-conscious signature. Every object, from handpicked art by Basuki Das Gupta, Pragya Jain, Remya Kumar, and M.F. Husain, to the cluster center tables and a limited-edition artifact-laden divider, tells a story of care and intention.
For the Vinchhis, the home isn’t just about its structure. It’s about what it holds: memories, conversations, and a connection to the outdoors. “Our favorite spot is the balcony sit-out,” they share. “It reflects the essence of Bangalore — lush, open, and full of life.”
If this home were a movie? The homeowners smile and say, “La La Land.” Dreamy, rhythmic, yet rooted in reality. Just like their villa.
Interior Lover Team’s view on the Project
Located in Bangalore, a spacious 8000 sq. ft. private villa reflects a dignified balance of structured modernity and grounded warmth. Ornate by Cane Boutique, led by Ritu Todi, the design approach embodies a harmonious rhythm of textures and tones that unfolds across a linear architectural layout without feeling confined. The interiors are unified by a refined material palette that includes Italian marble, stainless steel, and reclaimed wood—each selected to add both aesthetic depth and longevity.
In this residence, thoughtful spatial planning ensures fluid transitions between rooms, creating a sense of visual and emotional continuity. The design emphasises clarity and calm, using natural light and layered compositions to evoke a sense of quiet luxury. Bespoke elements, crafted with attention to scale, proportion, and purpose, anchor each space without overwhelming the overall design language.
Every space resonates with a curated personality, yet stays connected through subtle material overlaps and design motifs. From richly detailed surfaces to sculptural partitions and custom furniture, Cane Boutique has elevated interior design into an immersive experience, where every element feels intentional, intuitive, and in tune with the client’s lifestyle.
