Sanctuary in the Sky : A Weekend Home in Bangalore | Manmeet Bevli Design

Perched high above the chaos of the city, the Tata Promont apartment unfolds like a breath of fresh air. Designed as a weekend home nestled within Bangalore’s breezy Promont Hills, this 3033 sq. ft. residence is less a space and more an experience — one that exudes quiet luxury, layered craftsmanship, and a profound sense of home.

The home’s interiors have been composed with an intuitive softness — one that lets light flow gently, textures speak boldly, and every room breathes freely. This isn’t a showpiece, it’s a lived-in retreat — one that’s been designed to host slow mornings, soulful gatherings, and everything in between.

Design Language: Rooted, Refined, and Resilient

The design ethos balances timeless elegance with earthy modernity. A dove-grey and warm beige canvas allows materiality to take center stage — from pearl inlay furniture to marble floors, soft oak woods, brass details, and handwoven fabrics.

The home is filled with visual quietude, but every detail whispers thoughtfulness: crafted trims, custom lighting, rich wallpapers, and antique restorations blend seamlessly into the walls and corners.

The Living Room: Breathing Room and Connection

The living area, expanded and opened up, is a generous celebration of movement and mood. Neo-classical paneling adds timelessness, while carefully selected art pieces — including hand-painted landscapes and bronze-framed works — bring an old-world soul to the modern shell.

Custom sofas in off-white soft Chenille, tan leather, and boucle-fabric chairs create a warm, textural narrative, while layered lighting — from crystal chandeliers to concealed LEDs — allows the space to transition from sunny serenity to golden-hour glow.

The Kitchen: Where Form and Family Meet

The kitchen is a standout — designed not just for cooking but for connection. Knocking down walls opened the space into a casual cafe-style nook, where brass-lined chimney hoods and hand-curated crockery play equal parts function and form.

Pendant lights hover above, casting a soft spotlight on everyday rituals — breakfasts, conversations, slow coffee mornings — making the kitchen feel like the home’s truest heart.

Balconies and Bedrooms: Light, Lounge, and Long Views

Each bedroom in the house is a quiet poem in proportion and planning. Framed by sliding glass windows that reveal sweeping city views, the spaces have been zoned thoughtfully — separating sleep from lounge, privacy from panorama.

Balconies have been redesigned to offer more than a glimpse of the outdoors. Box seating doubles as hidden planters, sculpting corners that invite you to sit, sip, and breathe in the breeze. These aren’t just add-ons, they are extensions of soul and space.

Custom Craft and Comfort

There is a rich thread of artisanal work running through the entire home. From stone-crafted candle holders to carved teak wood tables and pearl inlay cabinetry, every piece is as intentional as it is beautiful.

Mirrored pooja units, custom drapery, handmade crockery, and antique frames reimagined in layers of golds and bronzes — all add depth to the home’s story. Nothing is accidental. Every detail is deliberate, tied into the larger narrative of lived luxury.

Materials, Mood, and Magic

A careful interplay of textures defines the home’s palette. Marble floors with soft grey veining, wooden trims, bronze and brass metals, rich velvets and chenille, boucle, and linens — all combine to ground the space while elevating its elegance.

Handmade ceramics from Bali meet Indian stonework and custom furnishings — creating a cultural dance between global craft and local legacy. Color plays softly: hints of beige, grey, creams and offwhite, ochre, tan, and teal flow gently across neutral bases — never loud, always layered.

A Home That Holds More Than Furniture

This isn’t a space of statements — it’s one of sensations. The light, the art, the silence, the view — all come together in harmony. From the concealed storage niches to the brass hardware, from the grand archways to the subtle textures underfoot, this home is designed to be felt as much as it is seen.

‘Sanctuary in the Sky’ isn’t just a title — it’s a feeling. And in every room, every corner, every moment of this home, that feeling is unmistakable: peace, possibility, and the art of considered living.

Interior Lover Team’s view on the project

Knotted within the serene expanse of Promont Hills in Bangalore, this 3033 sq. ft. residence, envisioned by Manmeet Bevli Design under the guidance of Manmeet Bevli, embodies a spirit of refined harmony. The interiors unfold through a palette of calm neutrals, gently offset by muted jewel tones, where every surface has been carefully considered. Polished stone, brushed metal highlights, sculpted timber, and intricate inlay work come together in an atmosphere of poised sophistication. The design approach favours subtle layering over ornament, allowing hand-picked elements to guide the mood.

Tailor-made furnishings, artisanal finishes, and carefully sourced objects create an ambience that feels collected rather than constructed. Each detail, from textured wallpapers and crafted panels to restored antiques and delicately patterned fabrics, contributes to a narrative of continuity and depth. Light becomes an essential medium, reflected in custom fixtures and soft diffusions that enhance both material and form. The overall expression resonates with timeless character, where global influences meet local tradition, and quiet elegance shapes every surface. This residence stands as a testament to thoughtful composition, a home that speaks with restraint, richness, and enduring grace.
