“A workspace demands Liveliness and energy” – The idea of an office or a working space has come a long way from rigidly planned cubicles and bare walls. In present time, an office demands vibrancy where users feel lively and keep up their energy levels high throughout their working hours. Our Youngest Client, two 26 year old Tech Geeks approached us to design their first self-owned IT office with a strict timeline of 30 days – we managed to do it in 35. With a clear vision of a good 15 capacity office with Private Cabins, Pantry and HR Cabins – a simple guideline to follow of colour codes that matched with their Company Logo of Yellow and Black. Exploring Furniture Systems to Designing Light Fittings, a non-outsourced design outcome was realized with time as an ultimatum to make this space a hub of ideations.
As soon as one enters the office, they receive calm welcome with greens and illuminated company logo with a vision of working space with yellow and grey colour balanced wall, this gives a visual delight, a sense of happy summerness.
The spaces envisaged were both singular and diverse, connected yet separated synchronously to allow the simplicity and diversity to co-exist. The idea was to keep it as clutter free and open as possible with the limited space that we had in the layout. We decided on avoiding lot of unnecessary barriers and to keep openness in the office by using glass doors and partitions. The design and the materials provide transparency for every space. The linear work stations with minimal visual barriers for colleagues to have easy access to work together. Use of Glass for partitions and dark ceiling help in emphasizing the pops of yellow that matched with their company logo.
The project celebrates not only an individual workspace but also the vibrancy of working as a team, providing a visual reminder of the colour and quote that make the office an exciting place.
The lights and the colour provide much required dramatic effect. Working with a concept of having this mustard yellow on walls was a huge tough call and one needs to be bold when making decisions. However, Grey balances out the colour perfectly, making it look like it’s just straight out of a story book.
Cabinet with open shelf system and profile hanging lamps made in white ash wood. The storage cabinet was carefully designed keeping in mind the client’s storage requirement in a beautiful and seamless manner. In an effort to create open usable spaces, the details in every corner are reflected beautifully.
Customized terrazzo stone table tops in slit impression of the grey and yellow colour palette placed in the cabin. The design smoothly evolved on an open space concept, with integration and balanced approached between the sensitive use of materials and transparency into the office space.
In a minimalistic and clean approach to the design, we have focussed on the details to a great extent. Wooden furniture which has a very natural character fused with modern techniques were designed carefully keeping in mind the users’ comfort and the longevity of the furniture pieces. Every piece of furniture for this project was designed with modern edge to it. Keeping in mind minute attention to details.
