The House With Modern Twist is designed in a contemporary style fused with an elegant and minimalistic design style approach to give a picture-perfect look. The residence with eclectic vibes is in the western part of Urban, Ahmedabad is situated. This beautiful and elegant apartment of 1100 sq. ft., is innovatively designed by the firm ‘The Design Umbrella’. The apartment is designed for a family, a couple with two toddlers and their elderly mother. The abode is designed keeping in mind the client’s specific requirement to create a child-friendly, unobstructed, expansive spatial design with minimal corners. The entire 3BHK apartment is a project modeled within a budget of 19 lakhs. The interiors are a take on modernism, with clean and crisp lines yet opulent. The spaces are meticulously detailed to form a family of details that echo throughout the apartment implying a connection between spaces.
The Principal Designer stated that “As a design response, the spaces are organized in an organic sequence, avoiding any obtrusive spatial elements, and ensuring a befitting flow of spaces. The communal area of the apartment is done up in the relaxing hues of blue and grey.’’ They have used a neutral color palette featuring fresh tones, more streamlined furniture, wall claddings, and soft upholstery. The warm earthy palette of materials, textures, and colors is alluring and comforting to the eyes.
ENTRANCE
The main door and the safety door are finished in light tones which are further adorned with a black grill. The door seamlessly merges with the exterior paneling décor with a chevron pattern in white on grey background. This space also features a chevron pattern cabinet which looks elegant with the wall décor. While the main door is designed simply with a dual tone which complements the interior décor. A step inside the apartment interiors invites a vibrant ambiance with an elegant living room.
LIVING ROOM
While entering the uniform wooden ceiling with a square design bridged across the living spaces brings a sense of warmth. The bespoke furniture in the space pronounces elegant luxury along with a sense of timelessness. Sectional modern sofa in grey color faces the TV unit, which is detailed in wooden paneling with dual tone. While the modern center table and TV console unit add allure to the décor. The sober ceiling was intentionally left very minimal and it is a great way to make the living room look more spacious. A focus light fixture has been integrated above the living seating area, which complements the area. The designer selected a modern tone of curtains that accentuates wall art on the wall.
POOJA AREA
The Pooja area is made up of wooden elements along with a beautiful handmade texture by an artisan décor on it, which gives enduring look to that area. The culture behind this design was to keep it contemporary yet add that traditional touch. The arches pattern not just looks luxurious but also makes it a perfect match for the devotion. The white top and wooden drawers with a spotlight on the ceiling create an eye-catchy look. While the designer smartly placed curved tables on both sides of the pooja area panel.
DINING AREA
The dining area has a vibrant modern pendant light that highlights the dining table. A unique design of the dining table with a white top and black base accentuates the beige dining chairs and unique bay cushions sitting with inbuilt round cushions on the wall. While visitors can notice that the designer follows the theme of a chevron pattern on cushions innovatively. The dining area is connected with the kitchen area in visual connection and an open plan system adds allure to the décor.
KITCHEN AREA
The kitchen is designed in a blend of two elements which is adjacent to the dining area. The unique design of cabinets with the great functional decor in a light shade of turquoise. The grey L-shaped platform and dual tone of upper cabinets accentuate with textured white tiles. The storage area door is designed with a light shade of turquoise framed and smartly decorated with the chevron pattern. Earthy palette service table with a white top accentuated with a floating wooden shelf that separates the kitchen area from the dining area.
MASTER BEDROOM
The master bedroom was envisioned in a monochromatic theme in shades of earthy and red. The bed’s back wall is adorned with vertical lines pattern in a light coral pallet. The headboard is in red velvet upholstery while one dressing is placed alongside open shelves with spotlights in it. The modern grey design of the wardrobe with mirror elements and the elegant design of the TV unit adds charm to the bedroom décor. An elegant ceiling design and artifacts complement the bedroom’s theme.
KID’S BEDROOM
The kid’s bedroom hits various striking color combinations and attractive shapes. The kids’ room is designed keeping in mind the child’s comfort and safety. The room is stuffed with soft toys, books, and cute little accessories to create a happy space. The designer has selected different playful wallpaper niches to add a little funk and character to the wall composition. Regarding design, special consideration was given to the children’s room, ensuring there were enough opportunities for kids to explore by themselves added by the designer. The modern sofa cum bed and a study table with all the essential accessories along with two beautiful wooden chairs compliments the wall decor. The wardrobe is designed in dual tones of blue and blush pink elegantly alongside a dressing unit with an oval mirror. All the walls of this bedroom are décor with different textures and patterns keeping in mind that it is a kid’s bedroom.
PARENT’S BEDROOM
The parent’s bedroom is designed with a contemporary theme. The highlight of the room is the bed’s back wall and the modern design of an antique bed in this elegant bedroom. The mustard upholstery headboard and wall décor complement the bedroom décor. Light fixtures and an elegant ceiling design accentuate the interior space. Every object in the room is handpicked and tastefully designed by the designer himself. The designer said that the client’s mother’s living space is kept simple and functional.
