The Solenne House: Sophistication in Subtlety | Midoree Studio | New Delhi

In the bustle of New Delhi, The Solenne House by Midoree Studio feels almost like a pause button. It doesn’t shout for attention—it waits, and then rewards you when you linger. Its very name, Solenne, meaning solemn and dignified, sets the tone for a home that embodies restraint with quiet confidence. This residential renovation was envisioned by lead designers Jasmit Kaur and Priyanshu Garg, who sought to craft a space that resonates with timeless elegance.

The duo approached the design with sensitivity to both structure and spirit. A muted palette—oatmeal, ash, and deep ocean—was selected not for trend but for timelessness, with colours that hold light and shadow differently through the day. A reimagined skylight allows natural light to spill across surfaces, shifting from morning clarity to evening warmth. What could have been a simple architectural feature becomes a living element, an atmospheric layer that deepens the character of the home and speaks to the designers’ thoughtful vision.

Living Room: A Subtle Sophistication

The living room is conceived as the core of the home, where comfort and elegance coexist effortlessly. Anchored by a spacious modern sofa upholstered in neutral tones, it strikes a balance between openness and inviting. Complementary lounge chairs in soft shades of blue and grey introduce subtle contrast, encouraging both interaction and relaxation. A stylish, clean-lined coffee table with marble tops, paired with compact tables, upholds a sense of timeless refinement while keeping the space approachable. Every piece has been chosen not just for function, but for the quiet elegance it contributes to the overall harmony.

Structured wall texture and panelling create rhythm without overwhelming the room, its linear detailing establishing geometry that guides the eye and balances proportion. Natural materials—stone texture flooring, soft fabrics, and warm wooden accents- enrich the palette, emphasising texture while retaining elegance. Lighting fixtures become an integral design element, with concealed strips tracing ceiling edges and highlighting wall panels to create a warm, ambient glow.

The entertainment wall blends form and function seamlessly. A marble-textured base unit, framed by sleek wooden cabinetry, while curated décor accents such as artefacts, and open shelving—add warmth and personality.

Passage: Fluid Connectivity

Connecting the living room to private areas, the passage exemplifies thoughtful simplicity. Marble flooring stretches its length, subtly guiding movement while maintaining elegance. A continuous concealed lighting strip along the ceiling illuminates the path while reinforcing the sense of direction. The play of straight lines with strategically positioned wooden artwork on the wall ensures visual interest along the walk.

Master Suite: A Sanctuary of Comfort and Refinement

The master suite elevates comfort through a carefully considered language of proportion, texture, and layered materials. As a focal point, the bed is set against an arched headboard wall, enhanced by concealed lighting that accentuates its sculptural form. Neutral bedding in muted hues fosters tranquillity, while curated artwork and modern pendant lamps balance symmetry with sophistication, adding subtle drama without disrupting serenity.

A built-in study and lounge corner extends from the suite, introducing functionality within a calm framework. Warmly illuminated shelving becomes a subtle feature, while paired chairs and a desk create a quiet space for reflection or productivity. Seating by the window offers a flexible retreat, perfect for reading, contemplation, or enjoying soft natural light. This thoughtful layering ensures the suite adapts to the rhythms of everyday life, blending relaxation with subtle utility.

Material choices define the suite’s atmosphere, such as abstract art décors for a wall. Marble flooring continues from adjoining areas, anchoring the space in elegance. The walk-in wardrobe introduces eye-catching warmth, complemented by the coolness of green shade tone, while the translucent entrance door of it diffuses light, softening what could otherwise feel heavy. Subtle metallic accents in handles and fixtures enhance sophistication without overwhelming the restrained palette.

While on the other side, accents of open shelves with warm lighting and carefully curated artefacts, wall 3d deco art and ottomans introduce personality without clutter, allowing the space to transition from casual family moments to refined gatherings with ease.

The bedrooms carry forward this philosophy, exuding luxury yet retaining restraint. Carefully zoned spaces encourage different rhythms: a place to rest, a place to read, a place to simply pause. Every element has been chosen with intent, creating indulgence without excess—luxury that feels lived-in and enduring. For Jasmit Kaur and Priyanshi Garg of Midoree Studio, The Solenne House is less about display and more about meditation—a home that listens, endures, and refines the very idea of sophistication.

In The Solenne House, every detail—from material choices to lighting and spatial rhythm—speaks to a restrained, considered elegance. The home balances comfort with sophistication, allowing each space to breathe while retaining a coherent narrative of timelessness. It is a residence that welcomes living without excess, where luxury feels natural and purposeful. Through subtle gestures and thoughtful layering, Midoree Studio has created a sanctuary that endures, offering quiet reflection, refinement, and a lasting sense of calm.
