Raheja Solitaire – Residential Interior | Lahoti and Associates | Mumbai
We were commissioned to renovate an existing 2 BHK in Mumbai. Staying in the hustle bustle of the big city the owners wanted to have Scandinavian theme in their home which accounts more of whites, lighter wooden shades and minimalism in the design. Keeping in mind the client’s penchant for simplicity and minimalism, we opted for a concept where less is more. Here, we tried to play with textures, finishes and details restricting the color palette to light pastels and whites.
Upon entering, the living room has compact furniture with a sofa cum bed, a warm nook with a 4 seater diner. The fine vertical groove patterns which one will see in the décor gives a sense of solidarity making the space look accommodating. The vibrant turquoise adds a nice pop of color element to the whole set up with the varied browns and greys around.
The master bedroom has a very subtle and neutral theme having shades of white and wooden textures all over. Breaking the monotony we designed classic profile shutters for wardrobe in dark teal wooden finish.Clean lines and subtle grey with a tinge of wood bring so much warmth and comfort in this master bedroom!!
For the Kid’s bedroom the idea was to give cartoon details in pertinent amounts so as to have a sense of playfulness and quirky. The space being compact, we opted for sofa cum bed which saved large space during the daytime. The lighting fixtures have been chosen aptly for illuminating the surfaces in right amount and making the space warm and spacious.
The house renovation turned out to be sober and having cozy corners of its own. The color palette has been toned down to neutral colors which go with the interiors. Hues and tones of grey are used for the house giving the house a toned-down look!
