Evara | Ministry of Interior Design | Thane

Evara – Fine Dine & Restaurant, located in Wagle Estate, Thane, and designed by Ministry of Interior Design under the leadership of Piyush Pahuja and Keval Gala, presents a distinctive hospitality experience shaped by a strong conceptual narrative and thoughtful design detailing. Inspired by the idea of the sun as a timeless gift, the restaurant translates this concept into a bold and immersive interior language. Rich tones, sculptural forms, and carefully orchestrated spatial elements come together to create a memorable dining destination where design extends beyond aesthetics, offering guests a setting that is dramatic, engaging, and deeply experiential.

The principal designers share that the concept for Evara emerged from the meaning of its name, interpreted as a gift of God significance. The sun became the central inspiration, influencing the spatial narrative and visual identity of the restaurant. Circular forms, radiant details, and a palette inspired by twilight were thoughtfully integrated throughout the interiors. Rather than relying on literal references, the design seeks to evoke emotion and atmosphere, creating a dining environment that feels immersive, distinctive, and connected to its conceptual roots.

The entrance establishes a bold first impression through its sleek black façade, expansive glazed frontage, and refined metallic detailing. The transparent glass frontage offers an immersive interior, establishing an engaging visual introduction to the dining experience beyond. A custom-designed Evara logo, inspired by the symbolism of the sun, serves as a distinctive identity element. Illuminated with a warm glow, it appears throughout the space as a recurring motif, reinforcing the restaurant’s narrative and enhancing brand recognition.

Upon entering the restaurant, guests are welcomed into an environment defined by rich, deep red tones and a striking visual character. Inspired by the colours of twilight and sunset, the immersive palette envelops the interiors, creating a warm and atmospheric setting. The monochromatic treatment of walls and ceilings establishes a cohesive identity, allowing architectural details to emerge with greater clarity.

A strategically positioned mirror element further amplifies the sense of depth and reflection, enhancing the arrival experience while complementing the restaurant’s design language. Clean-lined wall panelling introduces rhythm across the space, while strategically placed lighting accents create pockets of warmth. This restrained yet impactful approach enhances the overall ambience, setting the tone for a dining experience that feels sophisticated, atmospheric, and carefully curated from every perspective.

One of the most distinctive features of the restaurant is its sculptural ceiling composition. Flowing curved bands radiate outward from a central circular form, creating a sense of movement across the dining hall. The layered geometry reinforces the project’s conceptual foundation while adding architectural character to the interiors. Derived from the form of the sun, the central circular feature acts as a visual anchor, reinforcing the restaurant’s overarching design narrative. These sweeping forms guide the eye through the space and establish visual continuity, transforming the ceiling into a defining design element that contributes significantly to the restaurant’s immersive and memorable identity.

Suspended beneath the central ceiling feature, a custom-designed chandelier serves as the restaurant’s focal point. Composed of countless metallic elements arranged in a seemingly organic formation, the installation introduces texture, sparkle, and visual drama. Finished in gold and inspired by the dynamic movement of solar flares, the chandelier becomes a sculptural interpretation of the sun itself. Its intricate structure catches and reflects light from multiple angles, creating a dynamic play of illumination throughout the space. More than a decorative feature, the chandelier functions as a sculptural centrepiece that anchors the dining area and elevates the overall atmosphere with remarkable presence.

The seating layout balances openness with a sense of enclosure, creating comfortable dining zones throughout the restaurant. Thoughtfully arranged dining tables and upholstered seating create inviting dining zones, softening the geometry of the space while encouraging social interaction. Upholstered in deep red tones, the seating integrates seamlessly with the overall palette, reinforcing visual consistency. Carefully positioned dining tables maintain efficient circulation while ensuring privacy for guests. This thoughtful arrangement contributes to a welcoming environment that accommodates varied dining experiences without compromising the design narrative.

The restaurant’s illuminated signature motif appears throughout the restaurant, reinforcing brand identity and strengthening the conceptual story. Positioned within the bar backdrop and other focal points, the illuminated motif creates moments of visual recognition while adding depth to the interiors. The bar itself serves as a refined focal feature, with illuminated shelving and architectural detailing that add depth, warmth, and sophistication to the space. Together, these elements introduce contrast and sophistication, enriching the overall dining environment with character and distinction.

Large openings along the restaurant perimeter establish a subtle connection with the surrounding urban landscape. During the day, natural light gently interacts with the deep-toned interiors, creating changing visual effects across surfaces and furnishings. As evening approaches, the restaurant transforms into a glowing destination where carefully layered lighting enhances mood and atmosphere. This transition between day and night forms an integral part of the dining experience, allowing the interiors to reveal different ambience while maintaining their strong visual identity.

Evara stands as a testament to the power of concept-driven design, where every detail is guided by a cohesive narrative. Through its expressive colour palette, sculptural ceiling forms, statement lighting installation, and carefully curated spatial planning, the restaurant transforms a simple inspiration into a compelling design experience. Designed by the Ministry of Interior Design, every element contributes to an atmosphere that feels immersive, memorable, and visually distinctive. Rather than following conventional restaurant aesthetics, Evara embraces a bold identity, creating a destination where architecture, storytelling, and dining converge to leave a lasting impression on visitors.
