Situated in the heart of India’s High-Tech City- BANGALORE, A Community Cultural Café that serves amazing dishes/desserts with art side intending towards Culture, Nature & Interactions.
Ethymology of Carmelts
We have designed this Café keeping in mind the clients brief which was to design an eye catching and peaceful space with a blend of South India & North India heritage. Being opposite college and on the Prime location of Jayanagar, the place should support natural light & levels and focus on catering all age groups especially the student crowd. Focusing on the Color palette- the colors that make you hungry, complementing the surroundings & working on the materials & textures we have designed this cafe so as to make it look dynamic and give an unforgettable experience to the people.
The Layout
The objective was to create a layout which incorporates good amount of seating capacity with indoor & outdoor arrangements keeping the movement organised & spacious creating a comfortable & relaxing environment. Keeping in mind the target audience, different types of seatings were incorporated such as cozy corner seatings, long group seatings, seatings along the window to enjoy the outside view, general high back comfortable family seating and raised platform seating to highlight the corner and make it distinctive.
Etymology of Interiors
We have used Natural & Warm color palette for the Interiors like Green, Orange, Yellow & brown which inspire & effect people in different ways such as Green generates Growth & a Welcoming feeling ,Brown portrays a natural & organic feeling to the space which adds on to the comfort. Yellow & orange adds the warmth, vibrancy and energy to the space that makes people Comfortable & Contented.
Embracing the Eco friendly Trend, Natural materials like Wood, Stone, Jute, Cob & Clay blocks have been used in the interiors to enhance the design & the look , giving it the Warmth of Nature and an instant feeling of Luxury & Style to the Café.
Amalgamating the South & North India style of furniture, Carved back & straight line seats were designed. To enhance the Aura of the space , Metal mesh pergola at the entrance with plants was outlined which gives it a grandeur look.
There is ample amount of natural light coming in from the main façade and for later evenings industrial elements & rustic light fixtures with Led furniture have been provided that creates the right amount of ambience and Aura. Keeping in consideration the low height ceiling level, exposed painted ducts for ventilation were incorporated that totally go well with the space. A seamless & beautiful transition between the tile & wood floor was installed to give texture & visual depth to the space.
Acknowledging the Tropical weather of Bangalore, outdoor seating was planned so that the customers can enjoy the pleasant weather and elements like water droplets vinyl were added to the windows glass which complements the climate and elevates the space.
For Converting the Waiting time for food to Leisure time with family & friends, Elements like Wall of news, Art wall, Gifting corner, Book corner & Board games were integrated to amplify the attention & interest of the audience by giving them enjoyment & delight.
Carefully studying the surroundings and combining it with the technical knowledge, attention to detail & proportions, we ensured that the End result is portraying the Brief Concept , the connection & Our Signature Style.
In this Our team has put best efforts & Synchronization to achieve it and won The Most Innovative Interior Design Award In Hospitality section By Estate Awards 2019.
