Bazaar – Restaurant Interior | Anirudh Nanda Design Studio (AND Studio) | Chandigarh
Bazaar is an attempt to bring the character of a streetscape inside a shopping mall. The brief was to bring together some of the most successful F&B outlets in the city into one space that feels accessible and comfortable for everyone coming to the mall.
The idea was to create a street typology with each outlet acting as a kiosk from which the user can choose what they want to eat or drink. The kitchens were placed on one side to add length and create perspective. The bar acts as the focal point at the end of the street.
We used materials like tumble stones, natural cane and terrazzo to enhance the character of the street. The bar front is made of roofing tiles to further emphasize the character of the space. Plants are the most important element in the interior design of the space.
A hydroponically growing wall of plants is the feature wall for the dining space and the bar and acts as the unifying element.
