This lovely 2BHK apartment has a prime location opposite Mumbai Domestic Airport and is home to an amazing elderly couple who’re young at heart.
The Entrance lobby is decorated with Classical elements with a modern twist. Shoe storage with a combination of solid color shutters and wooden louvered shutter. The exterior wall is tile cladded to form the backdrop of the altar.
Both of them being party people, host a lot of gatherings to near and dear ones at their home, this formed the basis of the design brief for the living & dining area. The living and dining area being the gathering place needed to be Glamorous, Functional and clutter free with flexible seating arrangements.
The light pink hues of the sofa and armchairs with gold piping and golden legs compliment the large paintings behind the sofa. The long wall of the living room sports an Exclusive marble cladding that forms the backdrop for the TV. This wall is further decorated with vertical grooves finished in black, with a free floating bench in front to add to the seating capacity of the living area for large gatherings.
The dining area is separated from the entrance using a gold finished MS grill partition on top of a console, serving the dual purpose of an entrance console and a bar unit. A Statuario Marble Top and Golden base dining table with a pair of Dining Chairs and a bench seating completes the dining area that doubles up as armchairs for the living area in case of a large gathering and a Dining bench.
For the bedrooms the brief was very different. The bedrooms needed to have a very private & cozy feel with multifunctionality of being a space to just sit and relax, while also being a home office.
To achieve this, we used very subtle and soothing pastel shades for all the furniture pieces. The wardrobes being the most prominent pieces in the room have been finished in very light solid pastel shades.
The master bedroom is a mélange of pastel shades, a departure from the gilt-edged living area. The blueish gray coloured armchair in the Master bedroom next to the chest of drawers and a simple yet elegant wall mirror and few decorative lights with the jute area rug forms an ideal reading nook.
The minimalist spirit carries through to the guest bedroom. A sage headboard adds a dose of color to the pared-back walls with the study desk tucked in a corner to give ample circulation space around the room.
