This fusion aesthetic is refreshingly simple yet meticulously crafted to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The Principal Architect, Neitin J Kshhirsagar shares that the result was an opulent residence that we designed that satisfied every requirement of the client also reaching out to bring in his favourite holiday destination – Santorini within the confines of the apartment. The client also desired to have a balcony space for every bedroom, which was not part of the initial floor plan.
Upon entry, the eye is drawn to the entrance door showcases beautiful wooden panelling, adding a warm and inviting touch to the space. As you move further spacious and interconnected formal, informal living and dining areas, are designed to flow seamlessly together. This expansive space is strategically located adjacent to the open kitchen, creating a harmonious environment that encourages social interaction and connectivity. The free-flowing design enhances the sense of openness and airiness, while the well-planned arrangement ensures functionality and convenience for users.
Formal Living Area
A beige-hued wave texture on the wall forms a backdrop for the formal living area. Soft, subtle-coloured sofas complement the texture of a wall, creating a harmonious and inviting ambience in this area. The only pop of colour here comes from the bright-hued fabric of the two single-seaters. Elegant lighting fixtures and strategically placed planters further enhance the decor, adding a touch of refinement and natural beauty to the space. A minimalist metal wall clock and artefacts accentuate the brick texture wallpaper on one wall, adding a modern yet cosy vibe to the room.
Informal Living Area
In the informal living area, a vibrant yellow leather sofa stands out, creating a cheerful and inviting atmosphere. At the same time, a TV unit featuring beige leatherette panel work adds a touch of luxury and sophistication to the space. The informal living area is adorned with modern artefacts that accentuate its contemporary style. Complementing these are sleek and stylish lighting fixtures that not only illuminate the space but also add a touch of elegance and refinement. At one corner next to the informal living space is a reading corner aligned to a multipurpose room.
A modern chair with a comfortable footrest invites relaxation, while a stylish wooden décor with lighting fixtures provides the perfect illumination for reading and unwinding.
Kitchen Area
The open kitchen has a C-shaped counter and a colour combination that is used throughout the house, with a pinch of bright yellow for contrast. The modular kitchen features beige cabinets that bring a sense of warmth, paired beautifully with a sleek white platform, creating a modern and timeless look for this interior space. The kitchen space is further elevated by a wooden ceiling that adds a touch of natural elegance. Enhancing this kitchen, designer creatively selected lighting fixtures that illuminate the area with a warm and inviting glow.
Dining Area
The dining area is adorned with a modern wooden dining table, complemented by dual-tone dining chairs that add a stylish contrast. A wooden console unit completes the ensemble, adding both functionality and aesthetic appeal to the space. The dining area’s highlight is the antique lights hovering over the table. A large window in the dining area welcomes ample natural light, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. The curtains, carefully chosen to complement the decor, add a touch of elegance to this area.
The private rooms — the master, son’s and daughter’s bedrooms with spacious dressing areas and bathrooms — are accommodated at the other end of the house.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom echoes the warm palette dominant across the house and has an elaborate dressing and bathroom area. The Master bedroom reflects minimalism with a hint of symmetrical and earthy vibes. The colour plays of walls and furnishings along with the wooden flooring add serenity to the space. The modern wooden bed and wall pictures are emphasised in this area with warm lighting fixtures. The slight ray of light entering the bedroom enhances the design, creating a more tranquil and visually appealing décor.
The antique bench sitting and wooden ceiling décor add elegance to the balcony area with eye-soothing curtains. The innovative style of the wardrobes and dressing area, complemented by strategic lighting fixtures, adds a sophisticated touch. The bathroom is done in a monolithic way using dark tile and pop-up yellow shelves with a light colour palette of walls complementing each other.
Son’s Bedroom
The son’s bedroom has a black exposed brick texture as the focal point, with a stark contrast of black and cream, and a wood finish. The modern leatherette bed design, coupled with rectangular lighting fixtures, creates a dramatic effect on the bedroom’s interior decor. A relaxing cushion chair paired with an eye-catching coffee table elegantly complements the bedroom theme. The modern grey wardrobe adds allure to the wooden finish panelling on the wall. Additionally, decorative elements such as wall pictures and planters further enhance the beauty of the bedroom, creating a harmonious and stylish ambience.
Daughter’s Bedroom
The daughter’s bedroom plays around with fresh subtle colour palettes where the bold use of modern curtains takes the limelight. The thoughtfully designed study table, adjacent to the sleek décor of the TV wall, enhances the room’s overall charm and refinement. The daughter’s bedroom has a large walk-in closet and an open bathroom with roll-down curtains. The modern grey wardrobe with a lighting fixture creates an eye-catching element. The attached bathroom features roll-up curtains adorned with marble cladding, complementing the white sanitary fittings for a luxurious and elegant aesthetic.
The guest room boasts a stylish blue sofa-cum-bed set against the backdrop of wooden flooring, with a linear grey TV unit panel adding a touch of modernity. A wooden furniture décor and panelling enhance the room’s classic charm. In contrast, artefacts add charm to the décor with planters and lighting fixtures.
A dead passage in the house takes the family to their favourite holiday destination, Santorini, with white textured walls, blue framed windows with faux bougainvillea vines, and a skylight effect. This transformative space captures the essence of a Mediterranean escape, creating a serene and picturesque atmosphere that transports to a state of relaxation and tranquillity.
The overall interior design blends exotic marble, travertine stone, walnut veneer, Italian marble flooring, and fluted panels for a harmonious, timeless look. Every element has been carefully chosen to create a seamless blend of luxury. The luxurious and spacious interiors are further enhanced by bespoke furnishings and lighting fixtures, creating an ambience of refined elegance and comfort. Each room exudes a sense of grandeur while maintaining a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for residents and guests alike.
