Parekh Brothers Jewellers | Zeel Architects | Nagpur
In a small area of approx. 180 Sq.mt., a jewellery showroom in Nagpur, Maharashtra is designed keeping in mind that it should look bigger and better in size and volume.
Being the designer/ architects of the building in which the showroom was to be housed, the client has invited us to design a jewellery showroom for themselves with the condition that the interior has to be designed traditionally but in a modern way. A challenge was to have maximum display and to make the showroom look bigger.

The main entrance is done in glass with a wooden frame in sea green colour all around it and a 1.80-metre-wide solid door finished in veneer with customized handle of the initials of the showroom engraved in metal is used, which reflects the strength of the brand / company which exists now for more than 50 years. The selection of colour palette was in brown (floor marble and wall colour), blue (niches for display) and sea green colour for chairs and the inviting colour at the entrance. These were selected considering that the jewellery would stand out with the shades given.

Apart from colours, different textures were also considered the wall paper behind the niche gives a glittering effect to the gold, seamless stucco paint from ceiling to wall is given so that focus should be more on the display and not on the design character, use of mirrors is done on columns and doors, in arch form merges with the niches to give a seamless volume.

Lights in the niches were placed in such a way that it only reflects on the gold/ diamond jewellery and not causing any disturbance to the customers. Colourful chairs (sea green) chairs will never allow the space to look empty even though there are no customers and also, it will look crowded once customers are in.

Interior Lover Team’s view on the project
Zeel Architects designed ‘Parekh Brothers Jewellers’, a jewellery showroom located in the heart of the historic city of Nagpur, Maharashtra. It is an age-old jewellery brand that exudes grandeur. The Centre for Applied Arts, translated their luxurious-yet-subtle designs into a stunning retail experience that appeals to a wide range of customers. The designer has used the idea of ‘minimalist luxury’ to enhance the quality of the space. Décor has been pronounced by colourful floor inlays, inspired by modern art of capsule decor, replicated on the roof reflecting royal ambience of an eclectic design style. Every element in this retail interior space is designed as a piece of jewellery.

Each display section has been designed according to the product range. These individualistic display systems ensure each jewel stands out while getting its own space to celebrate the craftsmanship of the deluxe products. Even the lighting spectrum is customised to enhance the product range in respective zones. Plush furniture and light fixtures have been detailed to look like installations that reflect the essence of the exhibits. The colour palette eloquently binds these elements while neatly complementing and enhancing the displayed products. The tonal variations are softened with neutral tones to create highly articulate spaces.
