“Color is the Power Which directly Influences the Soul”
Meet Patel Architects (MPA) is presenting you this 1140 Sq. ft (approx.) Residence “Purn Purshottam Nivas” located in the world heritage city of Ahmedabad (Karnavati) which establishes the strong and clean design concept at the same time experimenting with color pallets, texture and patterns. We have tried to keep the essence of each space true to its function while also trying to keep the overall design language consistent across the spaces. The space that we enjoyed designing the most was the puja room and it was the most challenging as well.
It’s a dream of an architect that the client trusts you enough to give you a free hand and lets your imagination into reality. Client’s brief was simple that he wanted a Morden style design with the use of strong colour pallet and also making sure that there are design elements that depicts his strong belief in his religion.
Entrance Foyer
The name ‘Purn Purshottam Nivas’ holds a sentimental value for the client so at the entrance gate a full height back printed glass is used for adding freshness to the entrance door. The massive patterned main door at the entrance sets an impression of establishing an equilibrium between modernism and traditionalism, giving a unique take on the entrance door design. In providing actual glimpses of the primary spaces, this foyer takes a unique approach. As you enter the gate you are greeted by Lord Ganesh with a backdrop of a feature wall.
Living Room
“Luxury is when it seems flawless, when you reach the right balance between all elements. Understand theoretically-That is what luxury is all about.”
The living room sets the primary tone for the home décor. Vertical lines and the traditional pattern ceiling showcase the design aesthetics by experimenting with colour palate. In this soothingly vibrant living area with verve-yellow homey sofas and a unique coffee table is complemented by a wall pattern with matching beautiful curtains. Behind the sofa, floral paintings with matching colours of décor add grace to the overall space. A sleek T.V unit design, acts as a partition with screening for the dining area, which accentuates the living area décor. However, not to avoid the Greens, they play a major role in this residence. A huge green planter in the corner of the sofa balances the look perfectly.
Dining & Kitchen
The dining area is the connecting space for the living room and the kitchen which has a beautiful portrait of Lord Krishna with a flute adding playfulness and positive vibes into the space. This turns out to be the perfect place to relish meals with all the members of the family. The dining table is an exquisite center-piece with a playful wooden base accentuated with a marble top. Simple dining chairs with pastel shades of peach and white with a planter add a lot of charm and tranquillity in the dining area.
The adjoining kitchen serves as the source of prudent interiors, which look very subtle with a graceful choice of laminate and highlighted by curved handles which adds a glory to the storage cabinets. The fascinating wall of mirror creates an eye-catchy look for sighters. While the service counter is ornamented by the three modern arc globe pendant lights which complement the kitchen interior décor.
Temple Room
“You are never Lost if you can see the temple”
As mentioned earlier temple room was the most challenging part of the project. The client was very particular and exited to see how we approached the designing of the temple room.
When we first time visited the site and entered the space, we saw this big temple touching the ceiling. The approach towards designing temple room was kept simple that we design the room in a way that this big temple remains the center of attraction and all the other elements in the space are enhancing the beauty of the temple. The ceiling of the temple room has small lights creating star effect and Chandelier is kept in the center establishing a religious atmosphere.
Bed Rooms
“The details are not details; they make the design.”
Both the bed rooms have a simple and elegant color palate adding warmth to the room. Simple elements of design are used in the back of the bed adding artistic touch to the space.
The bedroom teamed it up with a soft beige colour to give a softer and subtle look. Textured surfaces on the wardrobe balanced out with the flooring and furnishing. Floral blinds, tufted headboard and bed furnishings add a flavour of elegancy to the bedroom. And also creates an eye-catching décor with a background wall of bed which is highlighted by an embossed vertical pattern and modern globe pendant light.
In the second bedroom designers decided to do something different and for that floral element of design are used in the back of the bed adding artistic touch to the space. The statement soft beige palate and white colour on walls compliments the bed headboard décor. Along with that, designer used the same colour details on the wardrobe and added simple handles gives an elegant and overall uplifts the room. The room also has a simple study table while curtains and corner pendent light is the highlighter of the décor.
