Jain’s Residence | Arth Design | Delhi
Located on a prominent arterial road, the building posed an intriguing architectural challenge that required a seamless interplay between commercial visibility and residential privacy. We developed a functional and earthy design narrative while bearing in mind the hustle of city life.
The southern facade is meticulously treated with a combination of screens and layered balconies to safeguard it from harsh and highly exposed sunlight. This not only offers acoustic insulation from the busy street below but also shields the interiors from heat gain. The material palette, which includes textured brick, vertical wooden slats and perforated jaali, produces an earthy and tactile aesthetic that grounds the building’s presence in its urban context.
The project focused on the interior of the floor inhabited by an elderly couple. Their brief called for a low maintenance space which radiates warmth and subtlety. Through the use of recessed lighting, carved wooden cabinetry, woven cane panels, hand-picked upholstery and other contemporary and traditional elements, the interior creates a serene and inviting ambience. In addition to fostering a comfortable living space, the use of an accent wallpaper, pastel hues and adequate seating arrangement adds depth and cultural richness to the modern design.
The balcony functions as a semi-outdoor space, with brick clad walls and mustard chairs, where one may relax, read or simply absorb the sunlight under the canopy of trees. The perforated panels maintain privacy, ventilation and natural light flow.
In this project, tropical warmth tempers urban grit and design truly serves those who inhabit it.

Located in Delhi, Jain’s Residence is a refined residential interior designed by Arth Design under the direction of Ayush Jagnani, thoughtfully curated for the comfort of an elderly couple. The design embraces a calm and grounded aesthetic, where simplicity is enriched through carefully layered materials and textures.
Elements like textured brick, vertical wooden slats, and woven cane establish a natural and tactile environment, offering a sense of warmth and familiarity. The space avoids ornamental excess, instead focusing on timeless materials and a muted palette that reflects a deeper sense of ease. Built-in wooden cabinetry, soft furnishings, and light upholstery lend the home a cozy elegance, while strategic lighting enhances the subtle character of each space.
The interior balances traditional motifs with modern functionality, allowing a seamless flow across zones while maintaining an atmosphere of quiet sophistication. Every detail is considered to ensure minimal maintenance and enduring appeal, from the finishes to the overall spatial configuration. Within its urban context, Jain’s Residence serves as a gentle space where material honesty, soft light, and thoughtful design combine to support daily living with comfort, beauty, and quiet dignity.
