Zahir: Minimalism and Personality | Poiesis Design | Ravello
Some projects continue to inspire us, even years after they were completed. This boutique in Ravello is one of them—a space whose distinctive character and timeless elegance remain as captivating today as ever.
The design sought to create a unique identity inspired by the colors of the Amalfi Coast while providing a clean, neutral backdrop that allows the products on display to take center stage.

A minimalist, contemporary language defines the interior, conceived as a gallery where architecture enhances rather than competes with the merchandise. A glossy total-white palette envelops the floor, walls, and ceiling, reflecting natural and artificial light to amplify the perception of space.

The focal point of the project is a dramatic curved feature wall clad in glass tiles in shades of blue, light blue, and teal. Inspired by the sea, this sculptural element introduces depth, movement, and a vibrant chromatic contrast that gives the boutique its distinctive identity.

Along the perimeter, long cantilevered shelves without visible vertical supports create continuous, lightweight horizontal lines that emphasize the purity of the space. At the center, a multifunctional display island combines extra-clear glass showcases with open display surfaces. Its mirrored plinth visually dissolves the volume, creating the illusion that it floats above the floor. A teal pouf echoes the tones of the feature wall while adding a subtle accent without interrupting the circulation.

The checkout counter is conceived as a pure white monolith, defined only by refined horizontal geometric cuts that reinforce the project’s clean aesthetic.

Lighting is an integral part of the design concept. Recessed LED strips beneath the shelves provide even illumination that enhances the displayed products, while adjustable track-mounted spotlights ensure flexible general lighting throughout the boutique.

The result is a refined retail environment where light, geometry, reflections, and carefully balanced color contrasts work together to create an elegant and timeless shopping experience.

Interior Lover Team’s view on the project
The finest retail environments do more than display products—they shape an experience through clarity, atmosphere, and architectural restraint. Zahir: Minimalism and Personality embodies this philosophy with effortless sophistication. Designed by Poiesis Design under the leadership of Principal Designer Paolo Quagliarella, this boutique in Ravello presents a contemporary retail setting where simplicity becomes the defining expression of luxury.

A luminous monochromatic palette establishes a calm architectural backdrop, allowing light, proportion, and materiality to guide the visual experience while naturally drawing attention to the curated collection. A sculptural feature wall introduces a vibrant interplay of blue and teal, bringing depth, rhythm, and a distinctive identity inspired by the surrounding coastal landscape. Floating display elements, seamless reflective surfaces, and precisely detailed joinery reinforce the interior’s sense of visual lightness, while a carefully layered lighting scheme enriches every surface with subtle elegance.

The result is an environment where colour is used with intention, and every architectural gesture feels measured and refined. With Zahir: Minimalism and Personality, Poiesis Design creates a retail destination where contemporary design, material precision, and timeless elegance come together in perfect harmony.
