The Mid-Century Abode – Kedia’s Residence | Kayvee Designs | Mumbai

The Mid-century abode, Mr. Kedia’s residence is a residential project designed by Kayvee Designs at Andheri West, Mumbai. It’s a minimal design house where designers have used mouldings along with contemporary-style furniture pieces to create a fusion look for the house. They have played with splashes of colours on its furniture pieces itself and kept the walls minimal along with the ornamental on them. The client was very pleased with the entire look of the house.

“The house is a mid-century abode, art deco, and modern-style interior sprinkled with decency, vibrant and charm. This exemplary house is huge yet comforting for the family members to enjoy the serenity. This home is unquestionably no less than a regal retreat with every element striking a graceful chord and blending in pleasantly!” – words by The Principal Designer. The interior design of this project induces one to consider the brilliance of the material used along with exquisite furniture, adding to its ambience.

FOYER

The entrance foyer is flanked with elegant decor & ornate furniture. The simple ceiling with a vintage rope chandelier has a royal impact as soon as guests enter the space. It is inviting with an accent contemporary velvet upholstery bench with brown textured glass in a wooden frame panel complimenting the planters. On the other side of the panel, guests can see a beautiful white ambient mandir, while a golden glass shutter with a geometric pattern that creates an eye-catching décor. Near that, a textured wall complimented by a solid wood console paired with a wood frame mirror and two ottomans in blue.  Lit ambience that furthermore brightens up the entire space with artefacts.

FORMAL LIVING AREA

The formal living room had Italian marble flooring consequently playing with colourful elements and white interior walls elegantly. The main feature of the ceiling is seamless and linear illuminated niches run in the ceiling that eventually complement vertical wooden panels on the walls in the Living space. Modern pistachio-shaded sofas with a marble-top center table and abstractive tea-pois aid in intensifying the intended characteristic with a modern rug. What adds to the lively charm here is the adjacent balcony space that blooms the indoors with its natural lights.

BALCONY

The balcony adjoining the living area brings in a generous amount of light that floods the entire space. A mid-century wooden swing placed here creates an extension from the indoors to the outside and vice versa. While a stone-cladded wall compliments the planters and soothing the décors of the balcony with arch-patterned window. The wooden ceiling design accentuates the vertical textured wall behind the swing, which is beautifully décored with wall planters and lighting fixtures.

DINING AREA

A dining table with a glass top accentuated by green tone velvet chairs and a black velvet bench was the center of attraction. A subtle dining area with a simple ceiling design which provides volume to space. Whereas the walls are highlighted by a wooden console unit with a textured wall and an abstract painting on the another wall.  The dining area and the formal living area are smartly divided with a black frame clear glass sliding partition which leads to the informal living area and it also provides ample privacy and yet integrates it with the informal living area.

INFORMAL LIVING AREA CUM BEDROOM

The informal living area has been designed as a multipurpose room with sofa cum bed which also doubles up as the guest bedroom when needed. The designer creatively designed this Sofa bed, which is a totally awesome piece of furniture. The designer placed a huge mirror to reflect the lights and look more spacious with white walls and a simple ceiling design. The simple TV unit with floating wooden console unit while grey shade curtains create a good ambience with an abstract texture upholstery arm chair. All other elements like a huge wooden wardrobe, modern tea-pois, rug, inbuilt book shelves and planters accentuate with mid-century décor theme.

KITCHEN AREA

The modular kitchen was entirely designed with a lot of storage and also elegantly counter space. A light shade of grey cabinets with a white platform was chosen for the kitchen. Frosted glass cabinets create the aura of an elegant design and complement a backsplash zig-zag tiling wall. While designing the parallel layout, the designer placed electronic equipment in the corner. This not only increased the visual length of the kitchen but also added more functional area for prepping and cooking. To enhance the plain shades of the entire kitchen, designers used light fixtures to brighten up this compact kitchen.

THE MASTER BEDROOM

The Master bedroom reflects minimalism with a hint of relaxation vibes. The colour plays … along with the wooden furniture add serenity to the space. The ray of light entering from the balcony makes the design of the space more peaceful. Geometrical lines on walls are used in stunning proportion in the foreground of light tones walls. Light beige bed design and a modern chair with foot-rest compliments each other. While dark tone of marble cladded wall paired with green and white wardrobe gives a more elegant feel to aesthetics. Simple TV unit which is well décor with wooden furniture and an elegant design of study table brighten up the interior décor.

KIDS BEDROOM

The kids’ bedroom is designed, keeping in mind the child’s comfort and safety. A modern bunk bed is customized on a special request by the client for their kids with wooden flooring. A nicely design study table with pegboards for stationary holders on a dark beige wall panel and selecting funky study chairs for kids accentuates with the theme of the kid’s room. All the essential elements like book shelves, wardrobe and special space for their toys are well décor and there is a window to let the fresh air come in whenever required. While the smart use of the world map as wallpaper and zig-zag curtains adds a joyful atmosphere for the kids.

Kedia’s Residence design by Kayvee Designs takes a mid-century abode throughout the interior décor of the apartment. It is replete with distinctive patterns with vivid hues compliments the entire interior décor of the house. It is truly translating all the essences of the client’s envisaged space into a diverse and avid stay. Interior decor is successfully appended to the desires of all the family members and thus handover an exquisite visual delight! Furnished with intricate detailing, eclectic elements and aesthetics, this plush abode has been designed as a space that welcomes and calms one’s senses, while being attractive at the same time.
