A classic exemplar of this scenic home surrounded by steady tranquility, is situated on the mushy land of Sanand – Ahmedabad, spreading over 11,552 sq.ft. Giving one unremitting painterly skyline to the Zen fusion of indoors and outdoors, over the massive landscaped property. Challenged by the crisis of the pandemic, this luxury retreat is drafted and implemented by the Principal Architect- Prithvirajsinh Bilkha of “PSB Design Studio”.
This grand family getaway is a work of art, hiding in the slushy soil of nature, the structure is built to coalesce with its surroundings, becoming one with the rolling topography of its site. The ingenious ‘structure and system’ allows the abode to justify the clients vision of simple yet elegant outline of the design. The modern and minimal approach cadences the exquisite enactment of the designer.
The narrative of elegance and regal is attained by the engineered work of subtle tones in the spaces embossed by arts and furniture features. Underlining the homogenous essence of the home and in response to the topography a common material palette of concrete, veneer and acrylic base textures were implemented. Sprawling into the abode of four bedrooms, two exclusive living rooms and enhanced outdoor landscape, the layout is crisply zoned into the layers of private and family spaces.
Welcomed by the surfaces of white and neutral foyer with accentuated wooden furniture, the materials incorporated are veneer brass and M.S which provides a foretaste of palette for the spaces ahead. A minimal wall of fluted glass with teak grids segregates the foyer and living, allowing porosity and exhibiting luxe through minimal opulent lights.
Drawing immense natural lights and farseeing the lake, the living room allows seamless visions of the outdoors to pour within. A staged display of drama is ingeniously enacted by the furniture as art evoking the soft graphite fabrics fusing with half textured and half wood cladded walls. Minimal ceiling design interlaces with the teak accents in the space, and elevating the space by incorporating plush illuminations.
Uniformly covered by wooden flooring, the guest bedroom attracts all the attention for its vaulted ceiling display oomph by the indirect lights. The bedroom envelopes within rapturing showcase of materials. The raw brick cladded wall marries organically with the teak furniture highlights, textured walls and soft fabricated tones. A design development of window converted into an expansive bay seating, generously concedes one to unwind the day with a pool view and stretched lawns.
Running on the parallel axis of design, the parents’ bedroom follows the same course of material and development of capacious bay alcove. An addition of duo toned wall of teal blue and ash gray gladdens the fresh spirit of the room. Blanketed by wooden flooring, the floral upholstery offsets as a layer of nature. The unified envisions sings in harmony with the flora and absorbs the bloom of outdoors within its skin.
The room with the exceptional view of landscape on the first floor with sloping roof belongs to the children. The serene bed displays a profile of concrete gable roof and adds volume to the space by four poster structure and sheer curtains. The detailed bed back of duo tones is achieved by patterned concrete and teak veneer installation. The glossary of homogenous wooden material is fabricated on the layout. Monotones of wood are broken by vivid blue velvet bedding and headboard, niftily merging with the natural setting. The entire room is basked with subsidiary lights drawn from indirect coves on the edges and track lights. The space surely defines of luxuriant serenity.
The master bedroom is a bespoke design reflecting the personality of the dweller. Following the suite of voluminous sloping structure and industrial light design, the exclusive poster bed is assimilated with the choice of the client. The room highlights upon the royal Nilaya wallpaper mollified with the pattern teak veneer. The earthen palette is generously blended with regal blue upholstery and parallel furniture incorporated dipped in Blue PU finish and gold accents, ensuing the regal character of the space.
Connecting the rooms indoor is a family seating switched to a bar as per convenience. The longitude of the space is ushered into a classic bar cushioned with an alcove arrangement of seating. The industrial and chic enactment of materials is balanced with the plum faux sofas and wooden furniture. This space opens up to the court terrace allowing exteriors pacifying with the interiors. A boundless vision of the lake regulates a constant connection with the nature. An outdoor seating set up under the foliage of Champa tree surely narrates the client’s appreciation of ecology.
The abode provides for an outdoor swimming pool holistically combined with gazebo. The edged designation of the amenities allows for a sensational experience of the stillness that nature has to offers.
A simplified, elegant, and with modern work of execution, the architect has achieved the apogee of his exploration of ordinary materials in extraordinary ways. A sensorial poem, this retreat abode is felt, rather than viewed, driving the senses that intuit minimalism, chromes, interaction, texture, and aesthetics.
