Veloura House – A conversation on warmth, textures and modern-day luxury | Ron Designs Studio | Mumbai
At Ron Designs Studio, luxury is believed to lie in creating spaces that speak of comfort and warmth. Creating a cosy yet elegant abode full of beautiful pieces is their way of saying it as per their own understanding. It all started with Ron Designs Studio bringing home the perfect blend of contemporary luxury and comfort. Veloura House is a 1256 Sq. Ft. abode in Prestige, Mahalaxmi , Mumbai, that Ron Designs made their mark on by turning it into a charming weekend getaway for the homeowners.
The origin story of Ron Designs Studio is also one of purposeful, deliberate action as it chose to enter the industry later in life. Ronak Doshi, the founder of Ron Designs Studio, decided to enter the domain and set up her practice after completing formal training and acquiring experience. With a clear purpose and sheer determination, she was able to turn her passion into a thriving design studio. While the initial years saw her design individual places for the industry, the journey evolved with time to include entire residential and commercial projects. The process has helped her create the Veloura House through her years of learning, dedication and hard work.
Veloura House is a charming weekend getaway that showcases the design ethos of Ron Designs Studio. Perfectly balanced with elements of warmth and luxury, the interiors are a testimony to the sheer love and care that went into its creation. The home promises to deliver on creating an ambience of enduring beauty by combining contemporary design elements with classic appeal.
What stands out as soon as one walks into this home is the sheer sense of calm that greets them. The inviting palette of soothing ivories, taupes, earthy neutrals, grey, and caramel creates the perfect balance of lightness and cosiness. Every element has been chosen with precision to let the natural light play with the textures that define the abode.
The design narrative follows through on the living room, where rounded silhouettes meet vertical fluted panels in a perfect balance. The design language creates an ambience of harmony because every element complements the other. Wood, stone, fabric and metal come together to create a cosy atmosphere that is further amplified by subtle artwork that adorns the room.
The living room takes centre stage with a sculptural curved sofa as its prime furniture. It is perfectly complemented by the plush lounge seats and fluted wall panels that create a lovely juxtaposition. The indoor plants add a touch of freshness to the overall palette of neutral tones. Overall, this is the room where one can unwind while being pampered.
The large windows create a lovely drama as the day unfolds, with sheer curtains letting in just the right amount of sunlight. As it floods the room, the textures start dancing, adding a certain amount of coziness to the room without having to rely on heavy drapes or lighting pieces.
The dining area picks up from the living room and leads into another charming space. The sculptural marble dining table adds a touch of elegance to the room, especially when paired with pedestal bases in bold metal finishes. The upholstered dining chairs with their gentle curves soften the overall look, while the reflective wall mirror creates an illusion of space.
The homeowner’s collection of travel souvenirs takes the form of curated wall art in this home, adding a personal touch to the otherwise neutral backdrop that defines this house. Every element has been perfectly chosen to create an ambience of comfort and openness in this home, with the walls being a perfect canvas for showcasing art that speaks of the owners’ life.
The shared living spaces have been created with a view to ensuring a sense of calm while leaving no practical aspect unattended. Rounded edges, storage solutions, and other small touches speak volumes about the thought that has gone into their creation.
The Primary bedroom offers a slight variation to the neutral palettes of the rest of the house, being accented in sage green and ivory. The upholstered headboard adds to the cosiness of the room, while the botanical wall covering adds a touch of nature. Large windows adorned in sheer curtains flood the room with natural light throughout the day, creating a lovely backdrop for the bedroom. Next to the bed, a custom pet staircase makes for a lovely touch, as it ensures that the pet is also a part of this home’s luxury without failing to take into account the pet’s comfort.
The Second Bedroom is a lovely blend of contemporary luxury and comfort with subtle touches of elegance. The subtle neutral palette, combined with custom furnishings and millwork, creates a lovely ambience that allows one to unwind. The built-in desk creates a lovely work-from-home nook, while the wardrobe that stretches from floor to ceiling and the display niches ensure that practical storage solutions are in place. The overall effect is one of timeless appeal created by natural light, textures, and a few well-chosen pieces.
Modern-day luxuries do find a place in this home without overpowering the overall effect of minimalism and comfort. Aircon and well-placed lighting have been used in this home to create the desired effect, with smart storage being used to ensure clutter is kept at bay. With a Ron Designs Studio touch, the overall effect is one of a beautiful home that leaves one feeling comforted and inspired.
The Visitor’s Room takes a slightly lighter route while continuing to follow the same design language as the rest of the house. The ceiling-to-floor white cabinetry in this space creates a lovely contrast to the sheer curtains in the bedroom. The custom-built sofa adds to the visitor room’s functionality, being a perfect spot to curl up and read a book. Accents of blue and mustard add a touch of cheer to the room without taking away from the overall effect of the room. Sculptural wall art and layered textiles add to the cosiness of this space without overpowering the overall look.
Throughout every room in this home, the decoration has been kept to a minimum. Indoors plants and a few well-chosen pieces of art add to the appeal of every room, with the rest left to minimalistic touches and neutrals.
Veloura House is a wonderful example of the design ethos of Ron Designs Studio, which believes that luxuries lie in creating spaces that evoke feelings of comfort and warmth. It is a space that manages to avoid being ostentatious while managing to deliver on the promise of a beautiful homely feel. Every room in this house is an exercise in balance, combining classic appeal with contemporary luxury in equal measures. The design narrative is one that chooses to create enduring beauty by focusing on creating the perfect ambience that leaves one feeling inspired. It is all about subtle touches and the perfect mix of textures that create this effect, which makes this home so very special.
