Office for Rajshila Synthetics Pvt Ltd | Interactive Design Studio | Delhi
This elegant and modern office interior was décored by Interactive Design Studio in a 4000 sq.ft., area, located in an office complex in Netaji Subhash Place, New Delhi. RSPL is a leading importer of polymer, silicon, rubber, and other products and deals with 24 different countries across the globe. The client wanted an office with an international language that should be iconic in design. The decor should represent their client’s professional core values of honesty, transparency, and focus on quality. The pop-up colors and usage of lines in various forms, materials, and surfaces were the distinctive features of the project.
Our clients are visionary and pioneers in their field and they wanted their office to represent it in every miniature detail. The office is run by three generations together as director of the organization & design should convince and comfort all of them. Another very important aspect is their humanity- hospitality & polite communication skills which the office interior should reflect so that design should not be influencing and unapproachable. – Words By The Principal Designer, Puneet Kumar.
The new office is 10 times bigger than the existing office so one of the challenges was to make people and employees comfortable, together as a team while maintaining privacy and efficiency. As this site placed in a very urban commercial setting, the character of the place is created by monotonous glass facades. The inflexible lines & planes interdict for the development which also creates a interesting spaces while experiencing that enriches the senses.
Interactive Design Studio’s design philosophy for the project is unique in terms of its design language, identity, and materiality. The embellishment is inspired by the variability of products that the respective client deals in and it is based on how fluidity creates a unique experience in vision. The spaces are well thought out and create an experience that stands out from that the usual work spaces we see nowadays.
To every user, it should serve as a place of comfort and warmth. It should create unique memories and an experience for each user and gives them the possibility of having office spaces and working environments that are not ordinary. It gives them the possibility of having human-centric design & spaces that are bound to uplift and elevate their spirits as a human being.
The main features of design language are curved white walls, curved glass partitions, parallel grooves in flooring, and ceilings to create rhythm. Colors were added to furniture and some parts of the ceiling to create vibrancy and joyfulness in the working environment.
Lighting has been a key element in designing space as rhythm is created by flexible led light profiles and continuous grooves which catch anyone’s eye and moves from one space to another. The entire palette for public & semi-public spaces is kept minimal with white walls. While the ceiling & grey floor adds to an eye-smoothing fluidic form. Black is used for punctuation and edges of curves. The entire space was divided into three areas depending on the hierarchy of interaction & relationship of users with various kinds of visitors.
With the reception area, a conference room & a recreation area is attached for formal and informal discussions. It gives the flexibility to create partnerships and has a business conversation in various ways. The elegant and modern white counter has concealed cove light that enhances the experience while entering. While the modern white wall décor with the company’s logo creates an eye-catchy element.
The main public area transitions into a semi-public space- an exhibition space for their products which is visible from reception and is accompanied by a small sitting pod area to have dedicated discussions around products. A lunchroom is also planned between the gallery and pod for staff to interact with visitors at informal junctures and over lunch. It is also part of extended hospitality of the client’s personal belief of greeting & taking care while meeting people who travel large distances for meetings.
This semi-public area transitions into a private office area which workstation area for staff, manager cabins, and MD cabins with a private lounge. It was designed in a way that all MD & manager cabins are located on the outer periphery creating an island workstation area for staff. This gives a very accessible, functional, and efficient space where communication at all levels is easy and quick, thus reducing effort and bringing functionality.
The workstation area is designed in consecutive layers depending on the hierarchy of communication with the MD or other managers. Each workstation is designed with a partition so that each employee has their own space to work but is also visually connected to other seniors to create ease in communication creating an efficient workspace. Each Director has got his cabin designed and styled in a way that reflects his personality and office ethics & values. This creates an inherent sense of ownership & relationship with space and creates an environment where you love to work.
Office for Rajshila Synthetics Pvt Ltd reflects the transitory nature of this office space giving a great opportunity to create an environment that is natural, raw, and textured with a unique style. Office design exemplifies a well-balanced space where teamwork happens for a purpose and spaces which enable collaboration are designed with supreme accessibility across the office. Planters in the office have their unique tale to tell and are thoughtfully placed within specific areas in the office.
