OM Shiv bungalow is a residence for a family of five members which is in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. The client was expecting their dream home to be simple yet luxurious and unique innovatively knotted by LG Associates an architectural design firm. Aims to get an exquisite look with modern designs which are eccentric in their structure, and can embody timeless beauty. This house is all about open design, luxury, and visual connectivity between the interiors and exteriors of the house. The luxurious residence uses a variety of materials that give it a unique appeal.
The Principal Architects share that the house was designed for a joint family, with three generations and their different likes and requirements. Hence, we felt an Eclectic theme would be an answer to the design of this expansive house. The clients wanted a warm and relaxed, contemporary aesthetic design in calm tones for their bungalow.
The facade is expressive creating a self-shading structure. The walls look astonishing with earthy tone cladding stone while simple white frames as a base element are stretched up to the highest level. Placing a striking white geometric sliding screening adds character to the design spaces by creating a magical play of light and shadow. The signage ‘OM SHIV’ on a grey concrete façade forms an eye-catchy element to the front elevation.
The client wants some old type “Khadki” unique entry door. And it can give a different identity to the house so we design the “Khadki door” and paint it a shade of blue colour which gives it a unique identity. The journey starts from a huge wicket gate that opens to the main entrance of the house which represents the spiritual side of our client. The walkway is covered by A space frame to create a sociography leading to the main door. – added by The Principal Architects.
Entrance
The ornately modern wooden door at the entrance is adorned with a white element forming an interesting visual for the guests. While the wall in the foyer is well decorated with floral wall art and Lord Buddha which is elegantly emphasized by an eye-soothing tone background of it. To enhance the look and feel of the interiors, the design strategically places wooden panelling for an earthy feeling with lighting fixtures.
Living Room
The living room is a blend of luxury and minimalism using pastel hues to keep it calm and welcoming. A modern brown leatherette sofa and a modern centre table add elegance to the living décor. While the wall behind the sofa is emphasized with a warm texture and wall art which is inspired by nature which is accentuating the sofa. A grey texture backdrop of a TV unit complements a wooden console unit and it is highlighted with white panelling and artefacts. The ceiling design makes a unique statement along with a modern chandelier elegantly. A partition between the stair and the living space is given a fusion touch with Indian seating.
Dining Area
The dining and kitchen are kept spacious and functional designed in a warm colour palette. A marble-top modern dining table and grey chairs are pleasingly associated with a modern design copper base. Tile-cladding walls with lighting fixtures and a unique wash basin area are complementing the dining area. Whereas the ceiling design and a modern LED copper chandelier create dramatic elements.
Kitchen Area
The kitchen is just adjacent to the dining area, where a modern breakfast counter with a curve theme work as a separate for dining and kitchen area. The breakfast counter is well-ornated with patterned mirrors and a white material palette giving the space a classy look. While the wooden crockery unit and ceiling with a pendant light complement the entrance of this kitchen area. The kitchen interiors follow a subtle colour scheme, highlighting the luxurious white platform top with a lighting fixture. While rich materials and exquisite décor details for the cabinets are done in a dual tone gracefully.
Temple
The temple reflects their faith in the most powerful deity, Lord Shiva. Designers smartly placed the temple area near the staircase which was well-ornated with a theme of Lord Shiva. The Interior of this temple is creating an eye-soothing décor with a modern pendant light that enhances the white walls and Shiva wall decor with a Maha Mahamrityunjaya Mantra. A beautiful rectangular ottoman and storage unit complemented the interior of the temple.
Staircase Area
A modern staircase is intentionally placed within the space to create another centre within the focal point of the residence. The earthy theme for the staircase pleasing to the eye with an elegant texture wall with wall painting. While a modern and unique pendant light catches the attention of the visitors pleasurably.
Parents Room
The parents’ room represents nature as the colour palette is kept pastel green which is calming to the eyes. The modern eclectic pastel green and white themed bedroom gets its highlights from the white lighting fixtures and green palette headboard of a modern bed. The white panelling of the bed wall adds a classic touch with circular wall art to the room. The modern dual-tone shutters of the sliding wardrobe bring the required balance. The richness of the set-up resonates in the curtains and furnishings. Designers smartly added a pleasing greenery view that enhances the bedroom’s radiance. An eye-catching modern butterfly wall art enhances the nature theme area with planters and grass flooring.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom has a tinge of bright hues of red making the bedroom cosy and fresh. Calm and soothing tones combined with modern mouldings result in this subtle yet luxurious bedroom. The geometric pattern adds character to the bed wall and the bed’s headboard, which are highlighted with different colour shades. The theme extends and strokes in the modern mirror-sliding wardrobe with an elegant finish. The eye catchy chair and elegant TV unit with a wooden console unit add allure to this bedroom interior.
The bedroom is elegant highlighting the wooden elements like framings and the balcony’s door. Even the balcony also well-ornated with wooden textured flooring and ceiling while modern white rattan outdoor chairs are placed where clients can relax and enjoy the views.
Kids Bedroom
The client wanted that the kid’s room is uniquely designed to reflect a child’s affinity with his favourite sports game. A niche within the wall and furniture is highlighted in bright colours featuring the artwork of football. A grey headboard of a bed and a football theme wall art with a wooden framing bed’s wall and a grey bench adds a modern sports theme to the bedroom.
Creatively wooden framing is continued with a sliding wardrobe and dressing unit. The sliding wardrobe is highlighted with a white and blue colour palette. Even study area designers continue the same colour and material palette theme elegantly. While the lighting fixtures and artefacts add a sporty feel to the bedroom. The balcony area is kept functional and playful with some fun elements on the wall. The brick texture wall décor emphasized with a modern blue chair.
Guest Room
The guest room is kept welcoming using a cool colour palette of blue. Grey texture wall panelling is accentuated with a stone textured wallpaper for the bed’s wall with a warm lighting fixture. A blue headboard work as a popup colour for the bedroom. All the elements and furnishings of this guest bedroom complement each other very well. While ceiling design, curtains, and a globe pendant light in the corner lift appeal to the bedroom interior décor.
Family Lounge
The most delightful place is the family lounge, a contemporary fusion space for relaxing with the homies. The blue theme lounge area followed the different aesthetics of subtle royal sofa colour with contrasting cushions complemented by two attractive ottomans and a centre table. The splash of black and white colours of the wall photos on the geometric patterns wall and a modern pendant light grants a unique aesthetic to the room. To ensure an eye-pleasing visual flow designer creatively décor the ceiling design with wow elements.
Night View
LG Associates make sure that the night view of a bungalow should be an eye-soothing ornamentation. The play of different styles of lighting fixtures on walls, façade, doors and windows adds dramatic elements at night view.
Overall, the elegant contemporary theme of the house with a punch of vivid wall art and furniture pieces zests up the complete outlook of the residence into a modern style of living with a pleasing approach. The earthy palette scheme is complemented by colourful upholstery with modern furniture and wall artwork creating a bold interior statement. When the residence was completed, the family was delighted with the home’s natural light, openness, and freshness through its structure. Whereas the ample living and personal spaces with the lovely balcony that had been opened up bring brightness to the interior.
