The Art of the Revamp: A Collaborative Masterclass at Ornet Park-2 by 1:1 Design Studio and Krunal Mistry Studio
In the prestigious Ornet Park-2—one of Ahmedabad’s most luxurious residential societies—a recent interior transformation has redefined the concept of multigenerational living. This high-profile project is a seamless collaboration between 1:1 Design Studio, led by Architect Prashil Modi, and Krunal Mistry Studio. Together, these two firms have bridged the gap between a stark architectural past and a warm, technologically advanced future.

A Vision for Evolution
The original house, built eight years ago, was defined by minimalist “bones”: exposed concrete and white walls. However, for a well-traveled CEO and his family, the aesthetic had become “boring.” Architect Prashil Modi and the team at Krunal Mistry Studio were tasked with a comprehensive revamp to introduce a creative material palette that adds warmth, texture, and character.

Social Grandeur: The Formal & Family Zones
The journey begins in the Formal Living Room, designed to reflect the prestige of the bungalow. The centerpiece is a stunning CNC-cut marble wall, hand-polished over a grueling two-month period. Its intricate circular patterns create a super-premium ambience, showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship and detailing intended to leave a lasting impression on visitors.

In the Family Living Room, the design embraces the home’s double-height volume. A dramatic White Statuario stone cladding is paired with black mirrors to create an illusion of infinite depth. This “drama of light” is further enhanced by tunable and dimmable track lights, allowing the family to shift the mood of the entire house at the touch of a button.

A Landmark Collaboration in Ahmedabad
The success of the Ornet Park-2 residence is a testament to the synergy between 1:1 Design Studio and Krunal Mistry Studio. By merging the spatial expertise of Architect Prashil Modi with the material exploration of both firms, they have delivered a home that is elegant, functional, and deeply personal.

The final design proves that even in an established society like Ornet Park-2, innovation can transform a “boring” concrete shell into a sophisticated, timeless environment for every generation.

“In the heart of Ahmedabad’s Ornet Park-2, our goal was to dismantle the ‘boring’ stigma often attached to aging minimalist architecture. By merging the structural clarity of 1:1 Design Studio with the material exploration of Krunal Mistry Studio, we transformed a static concrete shell into a sensory-rich, multigenerational sanctuary. This project is a celebration of craftsmanship—from two-month-long hand-polished CNC marble to bespoke brass hardware—proving that luxury isn’t just about labels, but about the thoughtful layering of textures that reflect a family’s soul.”

Private Sanctuaries: Five Bedrooms, Five Narratives
To break the monotony of the identical architectural layouts, the collaborative team treated each bedroom as a unique design study:

The Master Suite:
A study in “Quiet Luxury,” featuring an Italian marble TV unit and a bed back composed of multiple layers of beige elements with brass accents. The bed itself integrates rose-gold glass, while the wardrobes feature patterned teak veneer adorned with bespoke, handcrafted brass handles.

The Daughter’s Bedroom:
A pattern-oriented retreat. The headboard showcases a sophisticated herringbone pattern interspersed with vertical wooden members and stone veneer. This stone veneer extends to the wardrobes, creating a tactile harmony with the teak wood accents.

The Son’s Bedroom:
Focused on form and texture, this room features a bold blue stone-textured headwall with brick cladding at the base. The wardrobes utilize back-painted fluted glass shutters, while the study table—crafted from teak and metal—creates a striking “suspended” effect.

The Grandparents’ Bedroom:
To honor their importance, this room exudes “premium richness.” It features Asian Paints premium wallpaper accented with gold metal and Italian marble cladding, reflecting the dignity and refined taste of their generation.

Unleashing Fun: The Theater Room
For entertainment, the Theater Room offers a complete departure from the rest of the home. Raw wooden-edge shelves with integrated lighting provide a rustic warmth, while the TV wall is wrapped in fluted textured wallpaper. Combined with plush, comfortable sofa seating, the space creates a dedicated “vibe” where fun can be unleashed.

Interior Lover team’s view on the project
Elevating a once-understated residence into a richly articulated living environment, The Art of the Revamp at Ornet Park-2 in Ahmedabad is a refined collaboration between 1:1 Design Studio, led by Architect Prashil Modi, and Krunal Mistry Studio. The project exemplifies a thoughtful transformation where materiality and detail redefine the spatial experience, introducing warmth and depth to an otherwise minimal framework. The interiors are shaped through a layered composition of stone, wood, glass, and metal, each element carefully balanced to create a cohesive yet expressive design language.
A controlled palette allows textures and finishes to emerge with quiet prominence, while bespoke detailing lends a sense of individuality and craftsmanship. Subtle contrasts and sculptural surfaces establish visual rhythm, enhancing the perception of volume without compromising on restraint. Lighting plays a pivotal role, softly accentuating architectural features and enabling fluid transitions in mood and ambience. The result is a sophisticated, contemporary home that seamlessly merges elegance with comfort—an environment where design feels immersive, timeless, and deeply attuned to modern living.
