Modern Blends Classical Residential Interior | DP+ Architects | Mumbai
This three-bedroom apartment designed for a family in Suburban Mumbai was a contemporary blend of classic traditional look. The concept of the residence is created with rich materials, living elements and a soft colour palette creating a sense of calm luxury space.
The spacious and smooth space integrates the kitchen, living room and dining area bye liminating the solid kitchen walls and adding glass partitions for natural day lighting the kitchen area. The main Living Room is divided into a living and dining space with furniture centrally placed in a tan leather sofa and composite top dining table.
A cement sheet patterned panelled wall with Armani gold marble panelled wall creates a backdrop to the TV unit area. On the opposite side, a traditional motif cut out is done with an exquisite silk fabric design as an embellishment on the living room above the tableware. An open glass partitioned kitchen features vertical brick style tile work with composite countertops and dark brown hued cabinets textured veneers. Decorative elements and indoor plants create a perfect feeling of refinement and clarity.
All three Bedrooms had diverse age group aspect and were perceived in an explicit theme that balances aesthetics and functionality of the client’s requirement. For the Parents’ Bedroom, we opted for muted blue sage hue for the wardrobe and veneer finish for the bed design. The marble design of the TV unit provides a modern and refined space.
The master bedroom has a clean and clutter-free feel. Natural Light and a play of warm and soft colours with elegant upholstery by the bed make this a zen-like space. For Kids Bedroom plan was to have simple and minimal storage space with an assurance of durable and safe space. Behind the sofa was the highlighting wall feature of the room with add on colourful printed curtains.
