From the first go, the client’s brief was to have a home which is full of greens & vegetation hence indoor plants are curated in the decor to accentuate the Tropical Vibes, We used live plants like snake plant, dumb cane, monstera & tropical palm as it’s having its own benefits of cleaning indoor air and serving as an aesthetical element.
This home design we didn’t attempt to go for fancy wall paneling and covering with different materials – instead the play of décor elements and styling made the home pleasant to aesthetical senses. We followed the plan of the house and interior elements resembles to it without having done major civil changes apart from changing the master bedroom flooring and kitchen wall tile. We treated each small element as a piece of art and designed details as per its functional & aesthetical needs.
Design concept: “Use of Shapes and Geometry adds life and vibrancy to space.”
The entrance foyer design followed the simplistic lines and sitting area along the shoe rack is designed. The metal tree partition seen from the back is also serving as a welcoming wow element into the home and partially giving privacy to the dining and kitchen area from the foyer.
The main door and jail follows a vertical and horizontal grooving design and intersecting areas are cut to allow vision outside. The greenish natural stone (Rajasthani Deoli green slate stone) is clad vertically outside the door following the lines of the door patterns
The living room had an open plan concept, hence the challenge was to strengthen and define the dining area -We designed a metal partition (following the notion of natural element of a tree) and the table was designed along with it. The hanging light has the element of birds further supporting the idea of a natural getaway.
The passage connecting all 3 bedrooms in a linear passage had doors- we designed the doors with diagonal lines in grooves highlighting the door design. The ceiling in gypsum we used zigzag highlighting groove patterns to add life to the passage’s overall ambience. The same concept applied for accentuating the mood, we played with the form of bed headboards and designed zigzag and toffee like interlocking bed backrest designs.
The passage leading from living area to private bedrooms had a niche incorporating temple area- we highlighted the temple back wall with cnc design of flowers and provided minimal design for temple.
The zigzag patterns in children room bed back merges into the element of book shelf in the headboard design.
For designing elements like- wardrobe shutters and bedroom doors we played with the geometrical lines and grooves to enhance the visual appeal of the element and its impact influences the quality of pleasantness in space.
The master bedroom brief was to have grey theme interiors and hence wood-specifically of oak shades were used to compliment the greys. Along with designing, Elements of styling -decor arte pieces & bedding elements were incorporated to uplift the design interventions resulting into a visual treat.
Natural Light is the beautifier of the space- We had the entire length of the house facing west, hence mostly through the day we have natural sunlight and pleasant sunsets could be seen and captured at the evening since the apartment offered large vistas and views being surrounded by open farm land – the element of low heighted sitting designed in the master bedroom supports the idea of having small family & friends gatherings, coffee breaks & the idea of capturing sunset.
