Aanya Villa – The Holiday Home | Cane Boutique | Bangalore
Inside the sprawling holiday home designed for the Reddy’s, set amidst the natural surroundings on the outskirts of the buzzing city of Bangalore. It is a space designed close to their heart, which is luxury in form and function yet a blend of materials, finishes and character to suit their interests.
The key in designing this entire space was how to combine different design styles and cultures to create an unusual seamless mix of interiors. The use of natural materials such as Lime stone for the main double height wall in the living with a combination of anodised gold strip insets, the grey stone floors blending in with teakwood doors and large Japanese Shoji glass windows which open on to the oiled deck area, contemporary luxury furniture with the serene Buddha face panel, were some of the characters of this space adding the statement yet creating a balance in an unusual way.
The exterior of the house is contemporary with the use of stone cladding, glass windows and step out decks.
The ground floor abides in fine innovative details following an open plan dividing the space into different segments but visually connected making the space look really large. The first thing to catch your eyes is the customised serene Buddha face mounted on the double height courtyard wall, that is seen from all parts of the home reminding us of the serene human mind that dominates over all else. This space is complimented with an Asian tiled fish pond and a floral firangi panni tree with natural light from the glass ceiling, one will surely not forget the impact this has on us.
The luxurious living room is large with contemporary seaters and a contrast to the serene Buddha courtyard reminding us of the blend of the modern to the old, a worked stone clad wall and a flight of contemporary gold anodised stairs is a background that adds the character. This area also houses a billiards table and an Asian distressed bar where the couple likes to entertain. All these spaces look out into the beautiful fusion deck space from the large glass windows, connecting the exterior with the interiors.
The dining space is a blend of natural materials having a brick wall on one side and a French panelled wall that blends in with the 14’ live edge solid wood dining table complimented with a French side board. This area leads to an Asian hue panelled mandir door in solid wood making a statement of its own with carved motifs.
The first floor is more of a family area, designed simple and low on maintenance and care. The contemporary stairs lead to the family space and the Spa room which has a bridge walk way towards the master bedroom with a poster bed and the kids’ room with 2 single beds that spell comfort and warmth.
Since the family enjoys their me-time as much as socialising each space can be used to relax, read a book, watch the birds outside, sip on a hot cup of tea and just adore the space.
