The Pastel Arches | Creative Buildcon & Interiors | Dahod, Gujarat
Designed for a family of four – a couple and their sons, this compact apartment is located in a peaceful residential area of Dahod designed by Creative Buildcon & Interiors. The apartment receives ample sunlight, ventilation and overlooks lush green surroundings. The home weaves a design story through arches and a pastel colour palette that runs across the walls in each room. The arches appear throughout the apartment in different materials like wood, mirrors, paint and even artwork, making it a design feature that combines the home together. The overall design concept was to use pastel colours, arches and textures that would generate calm, with punctuations of bright and brilliant hues.
It’s a deception of how combinations of pastel colours give a complete chic and contemporary look to the home. What’s different about this design is keeping in mind our clients request of wanting colours and yet not looking loud, we played with pastels throughout the interior of house, which uplifted the space to give a sense of warmth, homely and yet contemporary finish. Another feature that catches the eye are the arch shaped niches, doors and windows. The geometric composition symbolizes the welcoming nature of the Creative Buildcon & Interiors. “With a well-defined design brief, quick decisions, strong agencies, it’s not difficult to work with a modest budget and yet achieve a good result”. – Said By The Principal Designer
ENTRANCE
The entrance door idea has been designed to create a linear theme with a minimalistic look. The blend of wooden and off-white for the main door with an arch pattern accentuates the artificial grass used on the entrance wall. By entering the foyer area, the wall had been highlighted by a pastel palette with geometric-shaped design and in-built mirrors. While the wall behind the main door is used for the storage, it is well designed with wooden cabinets.
SITTING HALL
A space for family and friends to meet is a must-have space for their clients. This is a large hall with highlighted rectangle décor on the walls, and backrest kept to sit on the floor. A heavily modern rug & geometrical pattern on the ceiling gives a royal look to the space. Walls are highlighted with fancy lamps and off-white paints which accentuate with velvet sofa and Islamic style sitting.
LIVING ROOM
A contemporary space of sitting area and the living area is partitioned thoughtfully to help them maintain their privacy and functioning. The living room is simply furnished with an “L” shaped velvet sofa with a black coffee table on a modern geometrical-pattern rug which creates eye-catching looks. The highlighter wall in the living area is vertically fluted in arch patterns which is well décored by leafy wallpaper and wall art. The wooden TV unit works as a partition for sitting and living area, for which there is a monotonous look with a sober linear console and black geometric grills on both the sides.
KITCHEN
The kitchen again revolves around the pastel tone and minimalistic concept. The functionality and easy-maintenance are given the utmost importance, which complements the granite kitchen platform. The designer used black tinted glass shutters for the upper cabinets near the chimney, which accentuates the wall tiles. While the other upper cabinets are designed with an off-white palette which follows the theme of the décor.
FIRST BEDROOM
The first bedroom allows the members to feel grounded and contemporary while playing with light fixtures in a linear-patterned panel on the wall at one side of the bed. And it ran towards the ceiling and ended at the beautiful dressing unit. While a sky-blue pastel tone wardrobe with unique handles adds charms to the bedroom décor. The space is beautified with the blue and beige coloured arched theme headboard syncing efficiently with the wall. The grey rustic palette cabinets and study table look more elegant with sky blue pastel touch.
SECOND BEDROOM
The client had keen eyes for details, so the designer decided to do something different for the second bedroom. The statement bold teal green colour on the bed’s L-shaped headboard and light wood lining which runs on the bed is the highlight of the room. Along with that, designers used the same wood details on the doors and furniture, which gives an elegant look. While floral wallpaper and modern colourful rug uplifts the room decor.
PARENTS BEDROOM
For the parents’ bedroom, the designer selected a blush pink velvet headboard which compliments with a black metal décor. The designer gave it an elegant feel by teaming off-white and light wood texture materials, which complimented the décor of the bedroom. Off-white walls helped highlight the tufted headboard and to break the monotony of plain surfaces, the designer selected a geometric-pattern printed rug which matched the theme of the bedroom.
