All of life is poetry!
Every detail captured, expressed and executed is a frame of story telling.
We perceive an entire project to be a movie and we create frames of stories with our plans and elevations, story boards and material palettes, to premier a home of love, compassion, colour, texture and oneness.
Here we present to you a story of a G+2 structure. The structure works on a datum breaking the public and private spaces into two floors of details. All public spaces in the ground level, three bedrooms and a living family room in the first floor, the second floor houses the private home theatre + deck, landscaped terrace, and the utility rooms.
Working on a central concept of a courtyard and all the primary spaces overlooking this green space, thereby integrating a sense of warmth and home through visual imagery.
The project began at a focus of abundant ventilation and light with huge openings, to avoid artificial lighting before sunset. As we went on to create our frames and stories, we looked at a subtle material palette of tints and hues integrating neutrals and pops of tints to create more variety in our spaces. The front elevation is kept minimal with white and stone cladding to allow the resplendence and context to amalgamate and set the tone for our structure.
The interiors create a home over a house and relates a sense of natural colour themes to complement the courtyard and a myriad of materials like the use of wood in walnut tone, grey and white marble, stone in rough and smooth textures, accents in upholstery colours, combination of leather and fabrics. Through these textures and finishes we have aimed at telling a story of warmth and subtlety, reflecting the ethos of our clients and their definition of a home.
The project has focused on integrally making visuals into and from the site, helping the users derive an experience out of the space. Conceptual elements like a bridge connection from living space to the bedroom, double height ceilings in the living room which open up into spaces below, creating a sense of monumentality and a better microclimate, enhanced by the landscaping effect layers the project further.
We further detailed out elements of panelling in the double height space which when opened up would act like a window from the study room, creating a visual interaction with spaces below. On closing this camouflaged shutter, the whole panel narrates into a double height space.
The balconies, bay windows and study tables have been placed and created keeping in mind the view from the site which overlook into green spaces, lush trees and a hill, which creates a sense of focus and experience with repose for a user. We have always believed that homes are your closest spaces and as designers we have a responsibility of creating spaces that reflect a client’s beliefs, personalities and abstracting their lived experiences, baggages and stories into spaces of colour, texture and patterns.
Interior Lover Team’s view on the Project
Set amidst the endless green earthy backdrop, the Vanaharika – All of Life is poetry! A residential villa well nested by Studio HC in a calm suburban Swiss town, Devanahalli, Karnataka. The brief was to design a simple modern-classic house with earthy elements that blend in with the greenery touch. The design also emphasizes open planning with free-flowing spaces and internal connectivity, providing interactive spaces to overcome the limitations of a linear footprint.
An attempt to bring an earthy feeling like poetry was fulfilled with the use of contextually detailed skylights and the roof, which is the breezeway that facilitates natural cooling of the interior, complemented with a distribution of internal ornamental elements which work together to bring in a magical play of light. Ceiling volumes and textures were used to create zones in the whole structure.
The earthy tones with wood have given the interiors a homely feel. Custom-making each piece of furniture marks the importance of following the theme and blending all the areas into one. Spaces created with almost all details and delicacy makes each corner a meaningful space. The presence of wood is continuous throughout the residence, not only in the form of furniture but also as a skirting running across all walls and a floor band forming a periphery around the interior and exterior décor.
