To enjoy good food, one must be at ease with their food. The environment of The Cuisine Queen Cafe with its 9380 – sq. ft. built-up area is a place full of space where everyone feels welcomed through interior decor. The Cuisine Queen Cafe, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, designed by AR Architects led by Ar. Ruchi and Amit Seth can capture the exact feelings with its unique and comfortable features. The entire ambience of the café is reflected in the concept of Indo-western and the tranquil of enjoying the food as well as the environment.
The principal architects share that TCQ restaurant charms the client’s guests with its dual design styles, featuring a Nordic-inspired ground floor and a country-themed first floor. The ground floor combines earthy colours and contemporary forms, creating a semi-fine dining space. Meanwhile, the first floor grips a warm country palette and showcases framed artwork of entertainment traditional stories. The restaurant offers a unique and inviting dining experience, blending Nordic elegance with country charm in a harmonious way.
The approach to the design was to create a space that is rustic yet classy like a vintage car, by curation of experiences through charming ambience and appetizing food. The rustic palette of concrete with the different colour palettes and warm lighting fixtures adds elegance to the façade décor. Visual texture is what is perceived by the eye, especially the signage of TCQ.
The layout is designed to divide the space into zones with different seating types, while still keeping it open and social. The colours, fabric, wood tones, signage, and lighting are specifically put together to make the place inviting. Even the glazing is treated with arched themes with different material palettes. The bar near the entrance is well décor with a warm tone material palette that complements the bar unit.
The floor plan of the restaurant is segregated into different levels, with each level having its unique usage. Café has been composed of various flexible seating options for both open and semi-open seating elegantly. Interiors are strategically designed to fill the space with natural light and planters are placed to emphasize the décor. Apart from colours and materials designers had focused on the lighting as this plays a very vital role to give out the best design.
A subtle material palette was meticulously curated, which connects the external and internal décor of the restaurant. The use of different textures and wall décor art on the walls with wow elements as the main accent colour gives a perfect balance of café space. Green ceilings with woven elements and unique lighting fixtures have been used to add an element of drama that further accentuates the feel of the space.
Designers smartly use the wallpaper as an eye-catchy element while stone-cladded wall creates a cool surrounding. Bamboo theme lights cascade down from the ceiling, filling the space with a soft illumination that engages in a place of shadows. Expansive niches carved out in the walls create eye-soothing nooks to display curated artefacts and ornaments.
The ceiling here on the upper level takes on a geometric identity with a grey colour palette with a country-themed interior. The focus spotlights also make a debut here, creating a charming space, especially at twilight. The artwork of traditional stories theme, walls are highlighted with all legends of the black-white from the entertainment world. While an earthy feeling of flooring is well complimented with furnishings.
Designers have considered that natural and artificial lighting will affect their selected colour across the day and night, given that light can alter colour perception. Finally, considering the size of the space, it is incorporated light colours to give a powerful dimension to a larger space. While the symmetrical theme of red and black ceiling décor adds charm to the interior décor.
The furniture adds warmth to the interior décor which is in contrast to the design elements, elegant finish & back walls to create more welcoming vibes. The merger of two materials and textures on the wall has been carefully planned to be imperfect. Planned imperfections make the spaces more human and comforting.
The first floor has an outdoor sitting area which allows for better air circulation and enhances the experience of the area. The colours and pattern of the rattan work furniture beautifully blend into the interior in a different combination. Through the design, it has included an amount of greenery to it. The flooring texture and ceiling design create a good ambience where people can enjoy their meals with positive vibes.
