D4206 Northern Heights | Studio Twenty 2 | Mumbai
This beautiful spacious and airy 850 Sq. ft. apartment D4206, Northern Heights is nestled amidst Mumbai by Studio Twenty 2 an architectural studio. The owner of the house needed each space to look elegant and contemporary. They have an understanding that a small space cannot be a mishmash of all the dramatic statements. The apartment design is inspired by keeping in mind the client’s liking for warm earthy tones and love for wood and veneer throughout the house. It is a perfect blend of modern design with a hint of striking bold colours to accentuate the palette.
The Principal Designer Prachi Satam shares that “Keeping in mind these aspects, we went around the design process by maintaining a sense of tranquillity, free-flowing spaces, and the use of minimal materials in different forms and elements across the house.” We took advantage of the generous inflow of natural light by creating a minimal design with soft curves and a soothing material palette in subtle tones of beige and cream with a rhythmic play of textures throughout. Natural light is an amazing way to transform the client’s home and make them feel healthier and happier. On the 42nd floor, we have ample natural light and that is the advantage of the project.
LIVING ROOM
Decorating and arranging a living room is much like setting up any style of living room. The focal point of the living room, is most likely the sofa, a wall, or some other large, striking element in the room. The designer has used a large wall as an eye-catching decor with wooden panelling cladded with Gypsum and finished with Asian Paint. The beauty of the large wall is enhanced with the black metal circular artwork, and the sides of the wall are decorated with gorgeous plants. Lighter colours and fabrics such as cotton and linen will keep a room much brighter, this thought we have applied while selecting the upholstery.
DINING AREA
A customized grey metal screen divides the entrance and the dining area. Designers have curated furniture and accessories; all perfectly emphasize the client’s requirement for comfort and uniqueness. The furniture gracefully creates a perfectly modern and luxurious environment in the dining area. The marble-top dining table perfectly complements the leatherette dining chairs. A huge mirror and a modern console unit are well accentuated with artefacts. While a modern crystal chandelier and wall lighting fixtures add allure to the dining area.
KITCHEN AREA
Multifunctional and maintenance-free kitchen with ultra-modern storage systems that are customized to suit the specific needs of the client. The counter length provides ample working space. This is a perfect combination of a modern and minimalistic kitchen with ample utility space. An apt use of materials and colour schemes plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of spaces. The kitchen here is designed to exemplify modern characteristics with its reflective surfaces, and sleek finish with a warm lighting fixture attaining neatness in its design approach.
MASTER SUITE
The concept of the bedrooms was based on creating a space that energizes and uplifts the mood of the young user. The variation seen in the materials and finishes brings a subtle story that worked within the beige spectrum. Continuing with the minimalistic stride, the master bedroom is simple yet lavish with clean lines. The light tone of the furnishing brings a sense of elegance and warmth to the master bedroom.
A study area has been accommodated and connected to the TV unit. While the curve theme is elegantly used for a ceiling design in L-shape and furniture. The light purple palette uses a highlighter for a modern wardrobe, and the colours are alluring and comforting to the eyes. The attached washroom is highlighted with dark marble cladded walls and white sanitary fittings.
AESTHETIC BEDROOM
The aesthetic bedroom for the client was enhanced with a pigment orange colour elegantly for the TV unit. And light shades create a geometrical pattern to the backdrop of the bed. Grey bed’s headboard complemented with orange shade side tables. The modern design of a sliding wardrobe in shades of grey accentuates the bed décor. While a curved huge mirror is an eye-catching element in the bedroom. The attached bathroom is minimal in design, using stone effect tile with a countertop basin.
The decorating style of this apartment is an exercise in restraint, where space, lighting and furniture play equally important roles. The selected hues help brighten up modern interior design and home decorations with a fresh look. Planning and designing spaces have an individual identity and yet fall in the similar fabric of minimalism, modern styles, and contemporary living. An apt use of materials and colour schemes plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of interior spaces.
