The Voyage | The Elan Studio | Dadar West
The Voyage design by The Elan Studio features the office with free structural elements, pop-up furnishings, and other elements that perfectly adapt to create a unique modern design space. The Voyage’s primary intention was to create a larger, more comfortable space to work together with the team in a common area separated from a lounge cum meeting room for the clients. The color scheme was a bit dramatic due to the play of bold black with various functions designed for this office interior in Dadar West, Mumbai.
The Principal Designer, Sakshi Monga says that “The Voyage our client was very clear on having an open office layout where everyone works as a team and not as individuals. Keeping the design minimalist we designed this 1000 sq. ft., bare shell into something subsequently pleasing. Our stand-out feature is the column with GIBSON SHIPBROKERS’ vibrant colors inspired by their logo, capturing everyone’s gaze as they walk in. We wanted to have the industrial raw look, keeping the ceiling exposed and painting it grey to add some depth.”
During the design process, it was vital to consider the requirements of users. The designer’s major challenge was bringing everything within the 1000 sq. ft., carpet area. The entrance to the office space is a welcoming one with two beautiful modern yellow chairs. The modern round coffee table and artifacts enhance the experience while entering. Theme elevates the unique additions to the design interiors and empowers those that inhabit the space and creates a sense of communication.
The designer focused on the client’s requirements with an open plan for workstations. As an alternative, see-through glasses are simultaneously used to carve out areas and divide spaces without building up boundaries and blocking visions. This matches the company’s working style of encouraging people to interact & collaborate continuously on different projects. Sustainably sourced furniture and customized wooden table tops with black metal bases give a classy finish. Also, trunk lights are customized to accentuate the experience.
Bringing in light and nature inside the office was achieved beautifully, keeping in mind that one needs to destress just by gazing outside the windows. Track light fixtures adorn the exposed ceiling in black paint with a hint of red paint to break the monotony of the light palette wall. LED hanging profile light fixtures accentuate the dark ceiling décor. The eye catchy décor of the workstation area is carpeted flooring in blue shades which accentuates with lively colors inspired by their client’s company logo.
The open office space’s modernity and the complexity of the details make it stand out as a unique workplace. The modern black TV unit and all artifacts complement the interior décor of the office. The ambiance created makes it very comfortable and open for communication. While one wall featured the four maps and its adjacent wall has four clocks set for different time zones with respective countries’ names.
The glass wall can be uniquely visual space dividers and space savers in compact spaces with black framing. The facility with vibrant yet welcoming with the unique style backdrop of a TV unit wall with the scenery. The modern grey sofas with wooden bases accentuate the wooden coffee table and a modern rug. While ceiling décor with a modern LED hanging light and artifacts creates eye-catchy décor with planters. The designer uses different color tones and abstract wall art to make this sitting space unique.
The Voyage Office space with a minimalist approach and brings transparency to design. The entire office is zoned according to the function and keeping maximum occupancy in consideration. Bringing the color palette to dark tones and uplifting the space with a hint of pop-up colors, was the design strategy to provide a better working experience for the employees. The usage of large clear glass partitions helps double up the space visually.
