158 Urban Courtyard is a thoughtfully designed 3BHK residence spanning approximately 1,350 sq. ft., crafted by principal designer Anmol Waychal, AW Architects in collaboration with Prashant Katkade of Studio Two Bricks. Nestled in Kalpataru Park city, Thane, the home reflects a refined blend of contemporary aesthetics and understated elegance. Conceived around an urban courtyard concept, the home reflects a balanced dialogue between earthy tones and contemporary sensibilities. Pearl white surfaces, warm wooden textures, woven rattan accents, and refined bronze details together establish a serene material palette that celebrates natural textures while subtly evoking the openness and calm of a courtyard-inspired retreat.
The Principal Designers share that the design language revolves around minimalism layered with tactile materials and soft geometries. A neutral base of pearl whites and beige tones is complemented by oak and warm wood finishes, while curated furniture pieces, such as an elegant swing with rattan detailing, introduce a sense of lightness. Sculpted wall textures reminiscent of sand ripples, softly glowing wall sconces, and carefully placed foliage add depth. Accents in teal mist green, tropical patterns, and muted blue with different light tones further enrich the material narrative while maintaining a cohesive palette.
Sculpted Living Room
The living room expresses warmth through a calm palette of pearl white surfaces and natural wood tones. A wooden sofa with woven cane arms is paired with deep blue upholstered seating and patterned cushions, while a suspended rattan swing adds a relaxed courtyard charm. A round nested coffee table, indoor foliage, and sheer curtains complete the light-filled, inviting setting. The TV wall features a textured chevron panel framed by softly edged shelving. Brass wall sconces, artistic sofa backwall, and subtle décor pieces complete the space with fluid elegance and visual harmony.
Classic Kitchen And Dining Space
The kitchen and dining area follow a minimal yet refined approach with soft teal mist cabinetry paired with white surfaces and warm wood accents. Sleek in-built storage maintains a clutter-free look, while ribbed glass shutters add subtle texture. A compact dining table with a sculptural wooden base is accompanied by upholstered chairs and a built-in bench. Pendant lights cast a warm glow over the dining setting, enhancing the balance and functional character of the space.
Earthy Mandir
The mandir is designed as a serene spiritual corner with a clean white and wood composition. A compact temple unit with softly arched detailing frames the sacred space, while delicate brass handles and minimal cabinetry maintain a refined aesthetic. Open wooden shelving features thoughtfully curated décor artefacts, enhancing the shrine’s refined aesthetic. Subtle lighting highlights the central motif, creating a calm focal point that blends devotion with the home’s understated contemporary design language.
Calm Retreat Bedroom
This contemporary bedroom is designed as a calm retreat defined by soft neutral tones and curved architectural details. An elevated platform bed positioned near the window is designed with integrated drawer storage, while a stepped wooden ledge functions as a practical bedside surface styled with subtle décor accents. Full-height wardrobes in muted finishes with brass knobs maintain visual continuity. Sheer curtains filter natural light, while subtle wall textures and warm wood elements bring depth and quiet sophistication to the restful environment.
Tropical Bedroom
This tropical bedroom introduces a tropical ambience through a statement botanical wallpaper that forms a lively backdrop for the upholstered headboard. The bed features a colourful vertical headrest that adds style and texture while remaining elegant. Cane-detailed wardrobe shutters and warm wooden furniture reinforce the natural theme. A compact study shelf with open niches and soft lighting provides functionality, while layered curtains and muted bedding keep the overall atmosphere relaxed and welcoming.
Elegant Bedroom
This elegant bedroom embraces a refined palette of whites, oak wood, and subtle blue accents. The headboard wall features a series of softly arched mouldings that echo the home’s curved design language, enhanced by gentle backlighting. A neatly upholstered bed with coordinated cushions anchors the room, while custom wardrobes incorporate patterned blue panels for visual interest. A sleek mirror and minimal décor pieces maintain the room’s elegant, uncluttered character.
