Om Raj Residency – Residential Interior | Anntaram Design | Surat
Open space and rich palette adorns the layout of this 5650 sqft Modern chic apartment residence in upscale part of Surat. This house serenely amalgamates the two ideas of space and living , done effortlessly by Sanjay Parrmar of Anntaram Design, who quoted Nate Berkus saying “Your home should tell the story of who you are, and be a collection of what you love.”
The Earthly Brown and Black tones prevail around this 5 BHK opulent and spacious house in Surat. The earthly brown tone is sprinkled with copious Merlot and golden hues giving the whole house a grounded yet, a richly home appeal. Brass was used extensively not only for the furniture legs, the coffee table and the tv unit , but also around in panelling.
The living room was spacious enough to be separated into a formal sitting for the guests with a nook for family to gather around, with full length wooden paneling and brown mirrors to accentuate the space.
The Dining area is kept in the same idea with an Italian marble top adorned by hanging spherical lights and geometric pattern veneer paneling running around the walls and ceiling .
The kitchen space is an unpretentious modular kitchen but highly functioning one designed to the needs of the home-maker. The Designer’s journey of painstakingly designing every aspect of the house keeping in mind that the chief user of that space can wield that space optimally while not sacrificing on the beauty of it has been carried out with ample dexterity by Mr. Sanjay Parrmar.
The Guest bedroom which is adjacent to the dining area has a floating bed with a sliding wooden frame which acts as the backdrop. The study in the corner and the full length curtains enhances the beauty of the room.
Keeping up with the overall theme of the home, the bedrooms use tones of affluence with Brass and Wooden interlays .The master bedroom is in continuation, with the grey on the wall highlighted by hints of Brass inlays and the matt golden wingchairs .The royal blue colored bed holds the room together.
The brothers room goes with a rustic feel, a sweet diversion away from the general theme of the house , with exposed RCC and Exposed Brick work giving it a earthly composure. The brown mirrors give out a metallic tinge to the room while adding depth into it.
The clients bedroom carries forward the minimalistic approach with brown tinge and the wooden colored veneer paneling, complementing the Italian flooring. Spiced with MS framed shelves and an abstract art the room infuses the idea of form follows function.
‘ Shobit (the client) while discussing the brief was very specific on how he wanted the apartment to be a house and not a gaudy furniture filled clutter, while keeping up with aesthetics and not make it into a bare apartment. Shobit wanted every piece of add on to have a function.’ says Sanjay Parrmar.
The acoustic sound proof theatre room was something that the movie buff client wanted to splurge on. The foyer with the powder coated MS bench and shoe storage with veneer paneling gives the entrance an impression of sturdiness without the feeling of bulk associated with MS.
‘Every piece of furniture had to have a purpose so the designing philosophy we imbibed was to keep the house minimalist while being livable. We kept the ceilings plain and curtains long to underscore the expansiveness of the house’ adds on Sanjay Parrmar.
