Modern style villa design is all about simplicity and straight lines and straightforward architecture that prioritizes functionality. Ennyesk Design Studio make sure that this villa includes all the attributes of luxury living and its exterior is reflecting just that with its stylish façade decorated with unique patterns and the landscape to match.
The challenge part of the design is to blend the heritage and contemporary design as the villa occupied by grandparents and grandchildren’s which is lake side situated surrounding by dense trees. This became an opportunity but also a challenge for the design because the house can be beautified from two sides and yet at the same time facing the direct sunlight heat from the west. – said by the Designer.
“DIVY” A Residential villa situated in Mysore with built in 2400sft plot area with a 7000sft of built-up area.
With careful considerations and design thinking in the process, a simple geometric mass shape was chosen and detailed in such a way with many interesting elements. Such as the use of wood, tile & steel for the façade. Sides of the house that is exposed to direct sunlight, especially from the west side are filled with spaces or architectural details that can help reduce the heat. Such as wooden louvers, planter boxes, wide window for air circulation etc. This is considered to be successful because actually, the rooms can achieve a good temperature comfort even when not using the air conditioner.
This house is heavily influenced by the modern houses design, such as the efficient arrangement of the spaces, utilizing many openings for maximum natural lighting and ventilation. By using garden philosophy for outdoor areas to minimize maintenance and the use of many wooden materials that can be found dominating this house. Project is lake side situated surrounding by dense trees which made designer to select the bright white and grey combination for exterior.
Entrance gate is to touched up with heritage door panels of Rajasthan ethnic as the dweller hails from there with antique lamps. Modern front doors have been successfully contributing to designer’s mission of elevating Art and Architecture by having a cyclical design. Door in residential homes cannot just make a unique statement, but it also incorporated with beautiful handcrafted modern door handles. The marble tile a stunning flooring that offers peak sophistication to the house. On other side of entrance seating arrangement with swing where the family can be seen doing a lot of things having a cup of tea, reading newspapers. Wooden decking, coupled with greenery and comfortable outdoor seating make a perfect lounging spot.
On entering the villa, the first impression that you get is ofgrandeur and space. Right across the main entrance door are the floating stairs, running from the ground to the second floor with exposed design on wall with light. Designer team decided that the staircase entirely, making it a parabolic curved shaped staircase with floating steps for better visual connectivity. The floor under the staircase was also highlighted with glass flooring and pebbles like floating in it which creating a cheerful ambiance with an art piece and green plant. The large window allowed sunlight into the house, thus naturally lighting up the entire common area.
The living room has a double-height volume and it gets highlighted with simple exudes elegance through marble and glossy finishes, layered with sophisticated furnishings and modern chandeliers. Custom made a set of hanging lights spread out its arms randomly and fills the volume. Grey geometrical pattern panelling work with warm light dominates over the T.V. unit wall. Living room get a luxurious contemporary look with this curved sofa with plush cushioning on the seats and arms making it more comfortable. A well-placed marble top coffee table just complement the suite which add interest and make it more beautiful.
On the other side the space that is considered to be prioritized in this house is the living room area which blends the dining room as a semi-public space. For separating dining space an art piece on glass flooring with pebbles gives elegant and stylish designed.
The dining and kitchen area which is well connected to the rear side of large openings are applied to this area to be able to interact with the patio on the outside. This area is designed to have maximum vista but also heavily safe and felt private as the users cannot be seen from the road outside the house. Using velvet cotton-based shear curtain and antique chandelier just highlighting the space. Grey square groove ceiling go through kitchen area looks glorious as white glossy cabinet working great with lights underneath.
The bedroom on ground floor for the client explores with pigment golden and white creating a geometrical pattern tangential on both the side of bed’s backdrop which is highlighted with beige honey paneling with grooves. To open space, the white walls are kept bear with simple tv wall unit with marble flooring.
The dramatic open soffit staircase inside compliments the play of light in the house all day creating a small world of fantasies. The staircase and lift act as a vertical transition to all floors. The idea was to create clear and distinct visual connections to the upper floors using light courts, staircases area, 3D wall pattern between windows and wooden ceiling with antique candle light and chandelier just create a spacious and elegant look.
The upper two storeys hold three large bedrooms, again placed within a network of small lounges, decks and balconies to accommodate private gatherings. Hence, at the corner house, every space was articulated with ample daylight, feels airy and voluminous, at the same time, is intimate and easy to grasp to make the people feel in control of the spatial organisation.
Interiors Ornamental worked on both comfort and heritage lavishness of contemporary by considering the tastes of grandparents into respective room nearby balconies are finished with retro theme by providing heritage swings, arced themed head-board. To keep the pleasant ambience for all the occupant’s monotone paint finish done in common area. – words by the Designer
The master bedroom which is the masterpiece. it portrays an expression of the true combination of the ancient, the contemporary, and the modern, the minimalism. The finished design is the direct reflection of the evolved desires and interests of our client. Working on this project expanded our boundaries and made us believe in the scale of design a thousand times more. Blending two colour themes into space, without having it be distinctly apart and segmental, made us scrape out and dissect design paradigms. It goes off the charts on creative prototyping and balcony are finished with retro theme innovation with wooden decking work.
The other two bedrooms that has glorified with everything from the textures, the materials used, the shape of the beds with cushion backrest. The placement of objects, the ceiling pattern with modern hanging light piece, the lighting is designed to make a phenomenal change in the way one experiences minimalism and contemporary design. Furthermore, we believe in creating a design that exceeds the expectations of our clients and specifically the experience of tranquillity. Designer tried to achieve that by carefully turning the setting into a heavenly abode, by designing massive glass doors that allow evening sunlight.
Other highlight is the terrace setting area, one wall is of the stamping stone with grey tints and wall lights which is complemented with wooden ceiling. On one side lord buddha is placed on steps with greenery by highlighting it with rope light. While remaining space gives the perfect feel of an open space, night view of the terrace is amazing with the lights.
Even during night, the lightning work was done fabulously as its highlighting the specific area either in architecture or interior design-wise. The ambience, impact and the serenity of a space is glorified by exterior lights. It enhances a space and make it visually connective and also help in to bring a variety of ambience change keeping the space constant.
