Union Residency | The Pastel Grooves | Surat
The flat was designed by “The Pastel Grooves“; the firm owned by Mr. Rajat Jain and Ms. Gyancee Jain. Both are young interior designers with great knowledge and with a wide horizon. Designers say that home is the place for relaxation of body, mind, and soul. This home was designed in Vesu, a prime location and posh area of Surat city, owned by one of the famous businessmen. The flat is located on the 4th floor of Union Residency.
The owner wanted to design their home that would be the masterpiece and talk of the town, which shows a lavish lifestyle with no compromises in the modernization. The flat is 4 BHK with a carpet area of 4000 sq. ft. Designing the flat was very challenging as the existing layout was changed, as the owner was not satisfied with that, so at any cost, designers had to change the layout according to the owner and with the design and structure in vogue.
The entrance of the flat is designed in such a way that visitors can feel calm and relaxed in this luxurious home. Visitors are greeted by geometric-decorative panelling that enlivens the vestibule and shields the overall view of the house. The porch of the lavish home has 10 ft. of a wooden door with embedded brass profiles and highlighted by an elegant ceiling. The foyer is designed in a curved shape with vertical grooving MDF panelling, while the LED Pendent Stick light with a vase creates an eye-catching look for the visitors.
The vestibule leads to the luxurious living area, which performs the all-important task of creating a first impression, as it sets the tone for welcoming with a brilliant continuity in colour palette and materiality. The living room with its plush material of the one-arm L-Shape velvet sofa with golden legs and integrated dark grey table between the sofa just accentuate the interior of the living room. While a patterned rug anchors the centre-table with a modern and timeless interior. Designers has paired sofa with the modern corner grey table to give the living room its own distinctive identity.
The TV unit wall is highlighted with textured colour with a beautiful console unit. Large windows infiltrate the entire living area with beautiful natural light. The living room is designed with a rich look with hanging customized wooden profile light in geometric shape that creates an ambiance. The curtain palette just adds charm to the living area, while the eye-soothing in the drawing-room is a wooden and glass partition that separates the dining and living areas.
The dining area is the place where the family can have a good time and enjoy the meal. The dining area ceiling is designed with tinted glass pieces in a neoteric pattern. Every piece of furniture is treated as if it were a canvas or an artwork by embellishing it with details and accents. Further, a spiral LED Chandelier in the ceiling and two beautiful console unit on floor, effortlessly converts into a dining space in respective to the concept of keeping it as open plan layout. Designer’s technique of this creating this linear patch of living, and dining, not only seemingly increased the volume of the space, but also brought a sense of calm to the home. The minimalist marble dining top for the dining and with unique twisted wooden base just creates royal look. Dining table paired up with pastel tufted chairs compliments its patterned wall backdrop which is highlighted with the vertical light.
One of the key requirements of the house was a well-defined Pooja area. In order to create that, designers ornamented a temple near the dining space and flanked by windows on either side. It is purposefully designed the mandir shutters with brass cutwork so as to let the light penetrate to the dining area and give it a more classical look. The Pooja shutter is also highlighted with an enhanced wooden frame and inbuilt spot lights to accentuate the door design.
The kitchen is planned to be as open and uncluttered as possible. The shade of the glossy white tiles is reflected in the choice of quartz and is contrasted by the dark laminate with a white finished ceiling. The kitchen is decked with its modular units, peach granite platforms, black countertops and open shelves with spot lights. While a refrigerator and a built-in storage unit for the oven are designed in a very sober manner. Its open expanse cuts off the adequacy of the chores conducted here.
The master bedroom exudes its own style and client’s personality. The master bedroom is designed with a customized upholstery bed, with a tinted glass screen in the back. The signature style in the master bedroom lies in its cohesive use of a pastel palette and the furnishing compliment the flooring. The floor and the ceiling are left plain to exemplify the other surfaces. Floor to the ceiling to make the space appear larger than size. Even the hardware has attained the designer’s personal touch- which is customized to fit in the realm of the space. An ample amount of natural light comes from the balcony, because of that, the master bedroom looks more luxurious with a choice of curtains and rug.
The second bedroom is for preppies and it’s designed in a way that can create productive for the preppy. For this bedroom, designers choose to contradict the material palette, keeping in mind the client’s taste. Here is an artful composition of curtains for the bed’s back to enhance the unique purple-upholstered headboard design. A lighter and darker tone is chosen for the furnishing to create a perfectly contrasting setup against the natural light from the balcony. A chair in purple upholstered with a corner storage unit is a perfect place for reading, which also exemplifies the boldness and appearance of the space.
Other bedrooms are designed as per the theme of the house, while one bedroom was converted into a home theatre with acoustic material. Where family members and close friends can enjoy the movie or series and relax.
For The Pastel Grooves, simplicity with modern luxury is an important part of their design process. Experimentation with the right stroke of simplistic design creates a beautiful and rhythmic substance inhabitable with comfort and luxury. While each room has its own individual identity & character, but a common theme of modernism & elegance transcends throughout the entire apartment. The designer’s central concept was an elegant and luxurious outlook for this entire space.
