Shanthi Kamal Villa | Ennyesk Design Studio | Mysuru
Shanthi Kamal is located in a premium residential area in Mysuru, Karnataka. It’s a 2400 sq. ft. plot area with a built up area of 8000 sq. ft. The ground floor consists of 3 car parking & on the first floor is a 4BHK house with a terrace party hall. This house has an incredible light inside that can illuminate the world around us. With this in mind, Shanthi Kamal villa was designed by the Ennyesk Design Studio team. It is a striking embodiment of a mixed bag of distinctive identities that blend to form a unique space. It is lively, yet quiet and elegant. Interiors decor with a mild soothing effect with brighter colours, and to create a warm house. Designers designed more sky lights to create natural ventilation throughout the day. Bedrooms are created with more white tones to create peace.
The project identifies most with the idea of juxtaposition, and therefore, the home is a dynamic blend of Indian sensibilities and a muted colour palette. The villa’s unique concept focuses on reinventing and discovering the magic of light in our client’s homes. At the same time, clients wanted landscape ideas that could interact with all spaces internally and externally. The client’s penchant was for a slick modernist vocabulary that amalgamated the habitable spaces with the landscape. Working closely with the client, a brief emerged which sought to carefully create a Contemporary house, with a more fluid arrangement of spaces, rather than just a functional design. – Said By The Principal Designer
The luxurious and earthy villa is home to some fascinating new trends, smart concepts, mood lighting, and warmth for the family. The use of walnut wood, earthy tones, natural materials, and soft harmonic colour palettes gives the villa a warm and welcoming look. It’s a white welcome into a world of relaxation and indulgence. The marble-cladded walls bring out an earthy feeling combined with a modern outlook. At Shanthi Kamal, there’s an earthy green space for the family to unwind and uncover the prestige of nature in their garden. The entrance is design using the most soothing elements – artefacts, planters, and mood lighting for a peaceful environment inside at all times.
WELCOMING ENTRANCE
A warm colour tone has been maintained on the entrance while the green plants infuse a hint of nature, life, and energy for more active and assertive environments. At the entrance, guests were greeted with massive beautiful marble on the floor and on the wall, while wooden elements are making an interesting, use of natural granite stone use as highlighter. The entrance door is a solid wooden door with a laser cut mustard yellow grill engraved in the door. Marble cladded walls create a notable entrance to the living room.
LIVING AREA
Inside, one is greeted with a spacious living room, opened up by a dramatic double-heightened ceiling, topped off with an elegant ceiling design. The designers took full advantage of natural light and cleverly brought it into the house through the skylight, making the whole living room immerse with natural sunlight and cheerful environment. With a gold rimmed accent wall with black touch on one side and a clear visual connection with other spaces on the remaining three sides, this area completely sums up the “functionality meets grandeur”. A modern velvet upholstery sofa is beautified with slender steel legs and a modern corner sitting on a white-grey pallet accentuates the décor of the living room.
KITCHEN
The kitchen takes white as the basic hue, even with the white storage units elegantly. While a yellow decorative panel is used to separate the kitchen from the living area, it also brings all the focus upon itself. The kitchen’s L-shaped black top platform and tiling wall niches break its monotony. All the elements and an elegant ceiling design accentuates each other.
POOJA AREA
The Puja area doesn’t pause in making its presence felt either. The two-shutter glass door is used with large golden handles which follows the theme of the living area. The main pooja wall is beautifully cladded marble with a stunning jali design with lights that runs from the ceiling in fluent space and yet look so simplistic. While white flooring with furniture pops as it is surrounded by wooden flooring near staircase.
Near the main door entrance designers creatively design a terrace landscape to create welcome ambience to the guest & even to enjoy for the family members and children. Keeping love for all things traditional, natural materials palette steel grey and rosy quartz marble in the corner adorn the flooring pattern in the pathway open-up the near staircase. While wooden cladded wall with light fixtures and greenery highlights the space elegantly. It is also connected with living hall with a huge French window with double height and it’s designed with more sky lights to create natural ventilation throughout the day.
STARICASE AND PASSAGE
One of the key features of the home is an elegant wooden staircase with glass railing which connects the upper levels, in turn overlooking the double-height living room accent wall. This volume subtly changes the shape and depth of space. The wall of staircase is highlighted with two vertical open belts covered with glass, complimenting the light fixtures used on the wall. The upstairs passage is designed in a luxurious style which is décor with white storage units and modern corner pendant lights.
MASTER BEDROOM
The master bedrooms have an interesting blend of lines and coziness. It displays a classic and detail-rich vocabulary, diamond gold patterned on a white embossed panel while it accentuates with lights. The white headboard with white furnishings makes the room more elegant and classier. While a white sliding wardrobe and planters add charm to the entire space. Contrasting curtains add the topping to the subtle tones. The Master Bedroom was filled with natural light with a beautiful wrap-around balcony.
SECOND BEDROOM
In the second bedroom, designers make sure that each furniture element consists of a dressing area and a sleek minimal TV unit – which is designed in such a way as per the client’s desire. Each detail shows that the entire space is crafted with a confluence of contemporary art presented in a modernity. The bed wall décor with floral golden pattern and with different tones of panelling style is the highlight of the bedroom. White bed furniture and ceiling design accentuate the room décor.
THIRD BEDROOM
With a simple design principle and an amiable use of materials, the project validates the use of a decent and justifiable material palette to outline the sublime spatial characteristics of this bedroom. The wooden slant belt on the wall is highlighted with lights while white panelling was highlighted with grove patterns. Corner pendent lights accentuate the bedroom furnishings. White furniture and planters compliment the décor of the bedroom in a very sober manner. This bedroom is also filled with natural light with a beautiful wrap-around balcony.
Ennyesk Design Studio makes sure that the design of the exterior is kept very minimal on par with the interior décor. Only essential furniture adorns the house, while some carefully placed accents add a bit of colour to the interior. Shanthi Kamal, illustrating a solid and bold façade, contradicts its relaxed interiors, with every void overpowered by greenery and natural light. A breath of fresh air, this home seamlessly incorporates open spaces into built ones, renouncing the joys of everyday life and sustaining its opacity to the environment. Designer’s team is a creative workspace enthusiastic about practicing site-specific, environmentally sensitive contemporary architecture. The firm strives to create design that inspires, approaching each project with an understanding that architecture has a unique power to influence lifestyle and society.
