A beautiful home designed by Studio Design Atelier reflects a perfect blend of contemporary and modern interiors in Ratlam. Designer Neha Mody would categorize this as a modern-classical design with an elegant touch. Nestled, this residential project has a view like no other. While designing, the designer ensured enough natural light plays an important role for the interior space. This is a 3600 sq. ft. built-up area comprising a living room, dining area, kitchen, and bedrooms with balconies.
The abode from the onset was a harmonious crossover amidst modern sensibilities and a contemporary design persona that comes through in the medley of the spaces housed within. “As a creative studio, we were elated to come across a client so accommodating who offered us complete creative freedom! We navigated this design journey from plinth to finished and occupiable interior spaces while honouring the timeline and the client’s expectations,” share The Principal Architect.
LIVING ROOM
The main door opens into an uncluttered white space with minimal furniture in contemporary styling. The living room layout accentuated elegant decor with formal seating placed. Two L-shaped sofas compliment the modern marble table tops with a unique rose gold metal base design. The living area is a blend of white and timeless tan, brown hue. To give an artistic look to walls designer smartly used light fixtures and decor the artistic wall art coupled with modern pendant lights to introduce a sense of zen and tranquillity. The square ceiling design and planters add charm to this living area. A partially solid wood batten partition system creates a distinction amidst zones while keeping the spaces connected.
DINING AREA
A large 4-seater dining table is juxtaposed with a glossy wooden paneling that runs on the ceiling with a white grid inbuilt. And this modern ceiling design is accentuated with an elegant modern chandelier. White marble top dining table and grey upholstery chairs with rose gold metal bases add a luxe factor to this area. The same pattern of partition between the dining area and staircase area can be seen here, too. This is to partially hide the leading to the private area.
POOJA AREA
One of the key requirements of the clients was a well-defined Pooja area. To create that, the designer placed staged a mandir, accentuating a textured wall on either side. And it purposefully designed the mandir shutters with cutwork to let the light penetrate and give it a more classical look. The Pooja space was kept simple and charming with the ‘OM’ adding a back panel with a light fixture.
KITCHEN
Kitchen design creates a smooth visual transition and connectivity between the spaces. The kitchen is decked with modular units, white platforms, and countertops. While the designer creates a specific place for the refrigerator and a built-in storage unit for the oven and other electronics appliances in this elegant kitchen. The counter length provides ample working space. This is a perfect combination of a modern and minimalistic kitchen with ample utility space. The tone of grey is used as a highlighter for the kitchen storage units.
FIRST BEDROOM
The first bedroom itself is a spacious area, taking up the full width of the residence. It has a white ceiling and furniture decorated in a wooden and white colorway. Wooden batten wall paneling accentuates the cerulean blue upholstery headboard. The headboard and sofa complement every element used in a bedroom. The great selection of light fixtures and curtains by the designer adds charm to this bedroom. While the second focal element in the space is undoubtedly the reading corner design with a wooden top and white storage.
Respectively attached washroom is well ornamented with marble wall cladding where the dark hue of the mirror wall creates a good ambiance in this space. A white washbasin and white storage unit add charm to this washroom. There is an inbuilt black shelf on the wall whereas lighting plays an important role in the interior décor.
The balcony brings natural light to the bedroom and creates a nice atmosphere. While the walls and ceiling are décors with wooden texture and light fixtures which give a good look during night-time. The floor tiles differ from the bedroom while planters add a good environment and chairs for relaxing while enjoying a cup of tea.
SECOND BEDROOM
The second bedroom is a blend of whimsical and modern in the right doses. The colors are the true characters in this space wherein a soft beige hue couples with wood, shades of brown, and accents of white. The resting space is backed by a geometric light beige headrest with wooden grid paneling and crowned by a statement modern pendant light. Touches of wood balance and complement the artifacts, creating a stimulating blend of cool and warm tones. The modern design of an elegant TV unit and wardrobe creates an eye-soothing interior décor.
The attached washroom is well decorated with marble wall cladding while a white washbasin and white storage unit add charm to this washroom. There is an inbuilt black shelf on the wall with a grey hue of tiles whereas a spotlight is used for the artifacts. White plain ceiling helps it to look more spacious.
The huge balcony brings natural light to the bedroom which is well décor with a batten in white as a façade decor. While the textured walls and ceiling design with light fixtures give a good ambiance. The floor tiles differ from the bedroom while planters add a good environment and chairs for relaxing while enjoying with friends and family.
TERRACE GARDEN
Another highlight of this elegant house is the terrace garden and décor with a pergola. Modern lounge sitting set in a rattan work and textured wall creates a good environment to get relax and having fun with family and friends. While the focal point is well ornamented with a stone cladding wall and black framing which highlights the lord buddha placed over there with planters. The lighting fixtures give the perfect feel of a heaven garden, and the night view of the terrace is amazing with the lights.
The key factors were to maximize volume, light, and privacy in space, weightlessness, and elegance are important characteristics that have been achieved by using modern furniture, textured walls, and royal interior decor. The house designed by Studio Design Atelier has an air of freshness which is accomplished with light tones of colors. The rooms are treated with white color paint, wooden paneling, and the elegant ceiling gives a modern and elegant look to the rooms.
