The Curvy Affair nestled by The two+nine an architectural design studio looks like a bead of glare wrapped in soothing pastels. The colors used in this home are predominantly touches of stucco pink pastel accented by the partial decor of wood and milder shades of blue and green. The interior décor of this house looks cozy, stylish, and, contemporary look with minimal wooden décor. The interior concept is defined by enjoying the spaciousness allowing maximum natural light.
The Principal designer Ar. Suryam Sharma says that “the house follows our love for curves and arches to prompt the clients of their ancestral home.” Designed to endure time, this spacious 1300 sq. ft. apartment in Kanjurmarg, Mumbai abode follows a very simple and modest approach towards its design. The Curvy Affair isa residential interior project that has created an exciting interplay of elements with the use of materials such as cane, pastel laminates, wooden elements, and gold-polished stainless steel. FOYER
The main door opens to deliver an experience of an immense vestibule décor with an L-shape wooden storage unit. While capsule glass partition helps to maintain privacy and complement the foyer décor which also adds to its verticality. To further ornament the space, an embellishing round mirror makes the ambiance look interesting and gives a hint of elegant earthy décor. While on either side of the partition, the designer smartly placed a velvet modern chair for reading. A wooden open bookshelf, modern cage pendant light, stucco wall texture on the front wall, and wall art add charm to this area.
LIVING AREA
From the beautiful vestibule space, it leads toward the contemporary Living room. The designer has kept a monochromatic palette with minimalist wooden furniture, to enjoy maximum daylight from the balcony. The stucco texture walls with arches décor in the backdrop of the sofa and TV unit add to the serene and calm environment of the space. Modern velvet upholstery sofa and chair infuse a sober character to this space. The marble top center table along with a modern rug adds allure to the sitting area. A modern TV unit wooden console with cane décor and an elegant ceiling design complements the interior theme. All the artifacts, curtains, lighting fixtures, and furnishings create eye-soothing ornamentation.
DINING AREA
For the Dinning space, the designer has used a pastel tone of blush pink for dining chairs and a couch. The pastel tone breaks the monochromatic palette and sequentially compliments the ambiance. The designer has strategically used pastel tones on the chairs which highlight the marble-top dining table. The wooden crockery unit and a blind curtain are read as distinct elements in the space. Whereas an elegant ceiling décor with two modern pendant lights emphasized the dining area.
KITCHEN
The pièce de resistance in this design episode is the irregular black and white texture of tiles and marble cladded walls that define enriching. The stucco texture platform with black and blush pink cabinets is interestingly molded by the designer. A fresh material palette of minimal and pastel shades is used to give a modern look to the kitchen. And glass cabinets can add an extra touch to the pastel theme ornamentation.
MASTER BEDROOM
The master bedroom stucco pastel theme is balanced, well-lit, lively, and peaceful gives one the feel of adobe style. The wooden bed in the master bedroom is modest with an accent curves textured wall surface further encased by framed art. The balcony and the linearly composed TV unit furniture with an arched design for dressing come together to deliver a highly attractive space. The wooden wardrobe with cane work and the selection of curtains create a good environment. An elegant ceiling design, artifacts, and furnishings highlight the design of this bedroom.
GRANDPARENTS ROOM
The grandparents’ bedroom features a garden-fresh color palette with a sage green cushioned headrest, the substantial painting is the ace of the room. The modern green palette bed design with a linear grove pattern along with an arched mirror generates an eye catchy ornate of the bedroom. While dark green wardrobe with cane work adds freshness to the bedroom space whereas a huge window lit up the space. The elegant ceiling and artifacts complement the green theme furnishings.
CHILDREN’S BEDROOM
The children’s bedroom is a space occupied by two kids who have the coolest room on the block. The room has a modest design with plain finishes and suitably creative furnishings. Blue and Pink flow into this space with a perennial company of white. – added by the designer. The bunk bed and wardrobe design are as per the client’s requirement along with modern arched theme study tables. The exciting use of shapes and colors creates fun places for the kids to do their homework and activities. Wooden elements for furniture and floor add an earthy element to the bedroom décor.
All-over the theme of The Curvy Affair is kept peculiar with pastel colors as the client admired having colors all around and believed in the theory – “ Colors bring joy to life”. Considering their theory, this abode was taken a step further by instigating geometry and a selective palette of materials and colors in the design. The material palette extrudes the right balance between warmth and eccentricity with colored upholstery, wooden furniture, and minimal artwork, bringing out all the details perfectly. Ceilings and lighting are kept simple and elegant in uniformity throughout the entire house.
