Sumantra : A Timeless Mumbai Jewellery Store | Neha Kachhara Interior | Mumbai
Sumantra, a Fine Jewellery Store at Hughes Road in Mumbai, is not about maximum display but about creating an experience for anyone who pays it a visit. Our client has a contemporary take on traditional jewellery, she breaks every rule when it comes to designing her pieces and we wanted to keep that in mind while designing her spacious store. We did not shy away from prints, bold colours or the ever risqué “black” surfaces and were able to juxtapose a vintage vibe with a contemporary feel to set the mood for the space.
Main Seating & Display Area :
Laid entirely in a palatial leather-finish Kota Stone, the ground floor segregates into the display area, the central seating area for casual client discussions along with the meeting room and the accounts area. Track lights run in the ceiling with a regal glass chandelier in the center. We juxtaposed vintage with contemporary to set the mood for the space and the result was this timeless jewellery store in the heart of the city.
Entrance Seating & Display Area :
As soon as one steps into Sumantra they are welcomed by our luminous teal wall along with a vintage wide-wooden chair with a striped fabric and a cane backrest. To the right of the entrance we have a flight of black wooden stairs leading us to the first floor. The walls adjacent to the staircase are illuminated with memorable photographs to encourage constant visual engagement.
