Petkar Residence | P G Design Studio | Nagpur
The ideology behind designing this modern bungalow was offering clients contemporary living wrapped in warm textured minimalist interiors. Petkar Residence is located in a quiet, exclusive area in Nagpur, Maharashtra which is well-knotted by P G Design Studio. Villa was expanded into different levels; each floor is arranged with separate functions but is elegant and convenient for users.
The Principal Designer Poonam Ghavghave shares that the Petkar Residence project provided us with an opportunity to create a relaxed environment that is elegant and minimal while redefining our approach towards luxury residential interiors. The highlight of the project is not an element or space but is the essence of one’s experience as they move through the multiple spaces in the residence and feel a sense of calmness.
From the exterior to the interior, the main colour of the house is a calm colour palate bringing warmth and modernity. The design uses elements of a brick façade, a symmetrical pattern, and a white highlighter to create a comfortable feeling. Solid material surfaces are used not only to create privacy and safety for the residence but also to create an interesting experience of light and shadow for the house when the sun shines on every hour of the day.
Living Area
As one walks from the elegant vestibule into the living room, one is greeted with a splash of sunlight in this well-lit space. The central theme of the living room was to design a warm, cheerful, and welcoming space for the family. Pink-shade sofas and a floral couch accentuate a wooden centre table. While a wooden ceiling and wooden panelling décor in the living area compliments the furniture. The design allows for ample space for light to fall in and brighten up the space through the good design of an eye-soothing balcony.
Dining Area
A wooden linear patterned partition creates a visual connection between the living space and dining and yet it ensures an uninterrupted view giving a larger sense of space. The colour palette extends into the dining area which adds to the serene ambience of the space. The wooden dining chairs create a compelling décor statement in their simplicity, especially with the marble dining table.
The attention to detail in the choice of materials and colours becomes evident in the niche in the dining area wash basin area creating an interesting visual experience. Here too, the 3D texture wall is meticulously seemingly seamless highlighting the dark washbasin and an oval mirror.
Kitchen Area
The kitchen is simple and functional with clean surfaces and adequate storage. The lighting fixtures emphasize the kitchen decor and the monochrome look gives the space an understated elegance. White kitchen platform and grey shade cabinets add charm to the kitchen interior décor.
Mandir Area
The white walls of the mandir area emit positivity and calmness. Engraving of the beautiful Mantra and inlay pattern with the idol makes the enclosure a perfect space for spirituality. Backlighting and a wooden ceiling with a modern chandelier give it elegance and purity. An arched cutout for the mandir and its entrance with a glass door adds charm to the décor.
Aesthetic Bedroom
The bedroom is an essence of elegance and it offers a complete empathetic connection to the user. The custom-made leatherette heightened headboard sets a beautiful backdrop for the bed which is well accentuated with lighting fixtures. The space offers excellent warmth and cosiness with a modern bed design. The wardrobe is finished in an earthy tone and has custom-made in-built handles that add charm to the decor.
Artistic Bedroom
This bedroom is kept quite simple and has eye-pleasing decor, with a unique style of furniture and furnishing. Platform wooden bed design with grey textured bed backdrop complimented with a light palette leatherette headboard. While wooden panelling with inbuilt shelves and a modern ceiling design adds elegance to the bedroom interior décor. While a beautiful modern wall face décor with a wooden console creates an eye-catchy element.
Master Bedroom
This lavish bedroom is a peaceful sanctuary. The clients wanted the room to feel relaxed and restful and hence designer knotted this space in neutrals, highlighting the headboard wall in the most tender grey texture. A pop colour bed’s headboard along with a modern bed design highlighted by an underneath lighting fixture. While a dressing area and a modern ceiling décor complement the bedroom interior theme.
Overall, the whole house gives a style statement of the class and resonates with elegant design features. Warm colours, concrete textures, and soothing finishes are creatively used for this modern villa. An interior focus on clean, sleek lines and striking elements like ethnic design in modernity and often it gives a peaceful, serene feel. The minimalistic home was the approach for styling this house.
