Elegance unfolds quietly within K – Residence, where classical detailing is reimagined through a contemporary lens to create a home of warmth, depth, and understated luxury. Located in Mohali, Punjab, this 4000 sq. ft. residence by Hearth Design Studio is shaped through layered textures, muted tones, and carefully curated materials that lend the spaces a timeless character. Soft transitions, tactile finishes, and a restrained palette come together to create an environment that feels refined, welcoming, and thoughtfully composed.
The Principal Designer, Jasleen Kaur, shares that the design approach is centred around creating a home with emotional depth while maintaining visual restraint. Every material, finish, and detail was selected with the intention of achieving harmony across the residence. Supported by Mannik Singh and the design team, the focus remained on balancing classical influences with contemporary simplicity, allowing textures, proportions, and subtle contrasts to define the overall character of the interior decor. The result is a cohesive environment that feels warm, composed, and deeply personalised.
Rich Foyer
The foyer introduces the home through a rich interplay of classical detailing and warm material tones. A dark-toned console with classic detailing is paired with an arched mirror framed in gold, creating an elegant focal point upon entry. Decorative artefacts in metallic finishes add character, while the coffered wooden ceiling draws attention upward with its layered craftsmanship. A sculptural chandelier casts a warm ambient glow, enhancing the depth of the space. Neutral walls balance the darker wood tones, allowing the foyer to feel refined, welcoming, and visually composed.
Aesthetic Drawing Room
Wooden glass-panelled doors define the drawing room with a graceful presence, reinforcing the home’s classical character. The drawing room embraces a timeless aesthetic shaped through deep wood finishes, classic furniture forms, and warm layered lighting. Upholstered sofas in soft neutral tones are paired with royal dark armchairs and a solid wooden centre table, creating a balanced composition of comfort and elegance.
A richly patterned rug anchors the seating arrangement, while the wooden ceiling adds warmth and visual continuity. The statement chandelier introduces a soft golden glow, complementing the muted palette of the space. Dual-toned curtains allow natural light to filter gently through the space, balancing the richness of the material palette with softness and warmth.
Contemporary Living Area
The living area carries a more relaxed and contemporary expression while maintaining the home’s overall warmth. Plush, eye-catching toned seating creates a comfortable setting, complemented by sleek glass-topped tables and understated décor accents. Full-height curtains filter daylight gently, adding softness and movement to the space. Vertical wooden panelling TV unit introduces texture and rhythm with wooden ceiling décor. While the layered lighting fixtures enhance the calm ambience. Neutral flooring and clean-lined furniture ensure the room feels spacious, balanced, and effortlessly functional for everyday living.
Elegant Dining Area
The dining area is designed as a sophisticated gathering space where material richness meets understated elegance. A solid wooden dining table paired with cane-detailed chairs creates a warm and inviting composition. The space is elevated through a dramatic double-height backdrop, where textured eye-catching panels and warm wooden detailing introduce visual depth while grounding the setting architecturally. The sculptural staircase flowing alongside further enhances the spatial drama, adding movement and architectural character to the overall setting. A sleek wooden console with curated décor accents and a thoughtfully arranged photo gallery adds a personalised layer to the space.
Refined Kitchen Area
The kitchen area follows a modern aesthetic defined by clean lines, muted finishes, and practical planning. Soft-toned cabinetry is paired with darker lower units and sleek countertops, creating a balanced contrast within the space. A compact breakfast counter with wooden stools introduces warmth while maintaining functionality for casual dining. Minimal pendant fixtures above the counter add a contemporary edge, complementing the understated palette. Integrated storage solutions and uncluttered surfaces ensure the space remains efficient, refined, and comfortable for everyday use.
Playful Daughter’s Bedroom
The daughter’s bedroom is designed with a playful softness while maintaining the home’s refined design language. Muted tones and subtle detailing create a calming yet cheerful atmosphere. The upholstered bed with fluted panel detailing becomes the focal point, while an elegant curved TV unit in a muted teal finish adds character and functionality to the space.
Decorative curtains with delicate embroidered patterns gently filter natural light, enhancing the room’s softness. Warm wooden accents and layered lighting fixtures further enrich the ambience, while tailored furniture pieces ensure the room feels refined and welcoming.
Aesthetic Son’s Bedroom
The son’s bedroom reflects a more moody and contemporary character through deeper tones and layered textures. A fluted wooden backdrop paired with soft upholstered elements introduces warmth while maintaining an aesthetic appearance. Pendant lighting beside the bed creates a focused yet atmospheric glow, complementing the soft indirect lighting around the circular mirror.
Minimal décor elements, including a guitar corner, lend individuality to the space. A floating dressing unit paired with a softly backlit circular mirror adds a refined contemporary touch, while the fluted wardrobe shutters create depth and a cohesive visual rhythm within the son’s bedroom. The overall palette, with streamlined furniture and clean-lined detailing, maintains a composed and uncluttered visual language throughout the room.
Classic Bar Area
The bar area is crafted as a warm and immersive entertainment corner with a strong visual identity. Rich wooden finishes, dark stone surfaces, and soft golden lighting together create a striking and sophisticated setting. The fluted detailing across the bar counter adds texture and depth, while the upholstered bar chairs introduce comfort and contrast. Backlit display shelves elegantly showcase the collection, becoming a focal element within the space. A gallery wall featuring music-inspired artwork enhances the personalised character of the room, while pendant fixtures suspended from the wooden ceiling reinforce the intimate warmth of the setting.
Altogether, the residence reflects a refined balance between classical richness and contemporary comfort, where every detail contributes to a cohesive and immersive living experience. From layered ceiling treatments and statement lighting fixtures to carefully selected furniture and tactile materials, each space carries a sense of warmth, elegance, and thoughtful functionality.
