Keshaa Salon and Spa – “Layered Textures, Crafted into a Sensory Salon Experience” | Bowerbird LAB | Mohali
This salon is designed by Bowerbird lab in Mohali, Punjab as a richly layered space where texture becomes the defining element of the experience. Every surface from the warm wood finishes and softly textured walls to the plush seating and sculpted detailing is carefully curated to create depth and visual richness. At the centre, a statement island anchors the space, crowned by an organic, tree-like installation that introduces a sense of nature and softness into the interior.

The façade is conceived as a soft, inviting threshold that transitions seamlessly from the outside into a curated interior experience. Defined by a series of gentle arches and rounded openings, the design moves away from rigid geometry, instead embracing fluid forms that echo the organic language carried throughout the salon. These softened edges not only frame views into the space but also create a sense of visual continuity and approachability.

“It’s less about design and more about feeling—where light, material, and form come together to create a salon that feels warm, immersive, and effortlessly refined.”

Curved mirrors, fluid forms, and warm ambient lighting further enhance the tactile quality of the space, creating a setting that feels both inviting and elevated. The interplay of materials and finishes is not just aesthetic but experiential each texture contributing to a sensory environment that is refined, immersive, and distinctly luxurious.

The furniture within the salon is thoughtfully designed by bowerbird lab to enhance both comfort and functionality, ensuring a seamless experience for users. Plush, ergonomically contoured seating provides long-duration comfort, while maintaining a refined aesthetic through warm tones and soft upholstery. Workstations are carefully proportioned, allowing ease of movement for professionals while keeping all essentials within reach, creating an efficient yet uncluttered workflow

This treatment space is designed as an intimate retreat, where warmth and softness define the overall experience. Textured walls in earthy tones create a cocoon-like setting, while the organically shaped mirror, outlined with subtle lighting, becomes the focal element—blurring the boundary between function and art.

“Vibrant yet composed, the colours unfold in contrast bringing energy to the space while holding it in a calm, almost effortless balance.”

Designed by Bowerbird LAB, the salon translates its design vision into a tactile interior envelope where layered textures, warm materials, and fluid forms define every element, from custom furniture to softly curved mirrors and integrated lighting. The result is a richly composed, contemporary space that feels immersive and sensory-driven, yet remains calm, refined, and effortlessly inviting.

Interior Lover Team’s view on the project
Immersive, tactile, and quietly luxurious, this salon in Mohali, Punjab, designed by Bowerbird LAB under Principal Architect Munish Chauhan, transforms the idea of a beauty space into a deeply sensory experience. The interiors are shaped through fluid forms, layered textures, and a warm material palette that together create an atmosphere that feels refined yet welcoming. Soft arches and curved openings establish a gentle visual rhythm, allowing the space to flow naturally while softening the rigidity often associated with commercial interiors.

Earthy tones, textured surfaces, and warm wood finishes bring depth and warmth, while ambient lighting enhances the tactile quality of every element. Sculpted mirrors, plush seating, and carefully integrated details contribute to an environment that feels calm, immersive, and emotionally engaging.

The material language is intentionally layered, balancing softness with contrast to create a rich yet composed visual experience. Every design intervention is approached with restraint, allowing textures, proportions, and light to define the character of the salon. The result is a contemporary space that feels elegant, experiential, and thoughtfully curated—where design is felt as much as it is seen.

In Goa, where architecture often oscillates between the vernacular and the overtly expressive, Bowerbird LAB is carving out a quieter, more considered path. Based in Porvorim, the multidisciplinary studio approaches design with a focus on clarity, materiality, and lived experience—creating spaces that feel both refined and deeply personal. Rather than chasing a signature style, the practice is rooted in adaptability. Each project is treated as a response—to site, to climate, and most importantly, to the people who will inhabit it. The result is a body of work that feels cohesive without being repetitive, contemporary without losing warmth.
